I really did not want to have to report this cause John seemed like a legitimate Seller. However he really left me no choice.

I bought an warlock account off John - Toonvender Jul21st 2011 for $2800
The account got hacked 1 week ago. One day i tried to log i got an error saying that no wow account was attached to this battlent account. When i logged into Battlenet the entire wow account was missing.
The hackers had transferred the whole account (i didnt even know this was possible), i know it was transferred because the warlock was on the guild that my main was on and i saw him log in every now and then. (that *****)

I frantically started emailing John, he never replied. I called his phone number (its on his signature) and it goes to a voicemail for a person called "Zac"

I finally reach him on aim 4 days ago. He tells me he doesnt really sell accounts anymore, and to email him on [email protected] and he will look into it (fair enough). 4 days later no reply!!!! and still no reply. There is no way to reach him.

I call blizzard and ask about account transfers, im told that not only do you need the secret question you need scans of ID's and only under strick criteria can accounts be transferred.

So this is where John is a scammer.
1) The only way this account could be hacked this way is if they hacked into my email account, the battlenet account and the battlenet email account. Each with different addresses and passwords. VERY un likely. There is much more valuable info in my email than information on a game, they could have only found out the secret question anyway.
2) Anyone who has dealt with John knows that he keeps all the ID scans and CD key scans, as he assures you he will deal with any hacking issues and account recalls hence i never received the scans.
3) No replys to my emails and messages. Only 1 brief aim conversation 4 days ago. Not what i consider professional especially when you read his promise to me when he sold me the account.

The only conclusion i can come up with is that Either John's Account has been hacked into and the hackers are rampantly going through all his accounts. Or He is apart of this hacking scam.
I have tried to contact him numerous times asking for the ID scans so i can deal with the issue myself, however he hasnt even replied to those.
I have never been so frustrated in my life and i hope noone deals with this guy.

John's most likely been hacked. i know many people who have dealt with toonvendor n he sticks by his word! hopefully whatevers going on is fixed soon for you.

toonvendor has been notified.

Screenshots clearly a deal was made and no WoW account is attached to the bnet account, however please post a screenshot of the payment. Also post a screenshot of toonvendor replying back to you from 4 days ago.

There is another possibility for what has happened that I did not see listed -- the Original Owner could have taken the account back. I personally have never had any luck managing to take accounts of their battle.net accounts (when funds get recalled and I need to resecure an account). The only people that have had that kind of luck are Original Owners.

Just an FYI. Hope that this all gets resolved for you.

the OO probably took it back, had it happen with an account i got from toonvendor as well, was able to recover it the first time, but then the second time happened, and i didnt even bother because he puts the blame on you

Here is a screenshot of payment made:

I cant seem to track down that 5 line AIM convo i had with John. But it was very short.
It was like He doesnt really sell accounts anymore. He will look into it for me, he couldnt talk cause he was with his girlfriend, he didnt know why his aim was on, he just turned on his work laptop and it automatically went online. Then he was gone.

I had thought maybe the OO took it back, either way Johns promise was that his accounts were backed with a lifetime guarantee against account recalls. The character has now been transferred to another server as i cant check it on wow armoury anymore... Im just worried they are trying to resell the account. Anyway i really hope John does get back to me, because ive tried every way i can to contact him.

I too hope this isn't another veteran going sour, it's happened a lot in the past.

John has always been legit with me, but people do go sour.

I will have free time this weekend to assist with the situation. Yes, I have stepped away from selling accounts for the most part, however I still will honor any and all promises. You've simply caught me at a bad time with this. I won't make excuses, I will either recover the account for you or refund you.Bodman, I'll send over the ID for the account later this afternoon. Please send me an email with your phone number so we I can call you Friday to get a better understanding of what happened to the account.John

Edit: for some reason spacing / enter doesn't work on iPhone. Might want to look into that mike

Edit 2: If you would like to deal with the Hack, I will send you the ID and void the warranty.

At the moment the account has not been recovered its been over a month.

Ive received 3 emails from John in that time period. He tells me that the OO did not recall the account so it must be an outside hacking and that the account can be recovered. That was like 2 weeks ago. When i finally told him i will reopen the Scam thread to tells me the same thing to buy more time

This has not been resolved. I have waited over a month for this to be resolved and just recieved this email from John.

At this time Yohan, I've talked to the original owner and I can conclude that it isn't a recall. Right now it looks like a hacking, and I can't be held responsible for that.

I'm still willing to assist you in recovering the account, but with mid terms and other priorities its on the backburner.

Regards,
John Fitch

This makes me soo angry right now. In the month ive been waiting hes called the OO once and taken the OO's word that he had not recalled the account. Now he pretty much is saying that because hes busy now that he may try to assist in recovering the account at his convenience but because he thinks its a hacking he cant be responsible...

Seriously this Guy is the worst.

This was his promise when he sold me the account
"Understand that when you buy an account from me you're buying a lot more than just the account. Unlike other random accounts, my accounts are backed with a lifetime insurance policy against recalls. Also included is a compromise protection plan, any sort of hacking issues are taken care of by me. The newest, and most popular addition to the client program has been a character sale program. Say something comes along that you may want more than the warlock, I actually sell the warlock on the market for you (usually get the same amount, sometimes even more that you paid)."

If you read in Red his promise to take care of all hacking issues. I still dont believe a random hacker could have removed an entire account from the battlenet account, only someone with intimate knowledge of the account could this be possible, however even if it was just hacked John held on to all the ID scans and i couldnt do anything at the time of the hacking. Now that John has wasted over a month and now saying hes too busy and he cant be held responsible, this is just so totally unfair.

I am so sick of dealing with this guy, i dont even care about the account anymore. I believe i deserve a full refund for this account. All i am left is a battlenet account with nothing on it. I did not pay 2.8K USD for empty promises of protection and lifetime guarantees only be kept in the dark for over a month. I believe ive been so patient with John im not sure anyone else would have been this patient with him.

Dear MMOBay,

Understand that the reason this issue's resolution is so lengthy due to the value of the account. In order to assure that the account was not harmed in the process of it's recovery, the proper measures must be taken in order to assure it's safety.

Before recovering the account, I had to be assured that this wasn't an original owner recall. For those of you who have had an original owner recall, you likely know why we couldn't simply recall the account and hope for the best. When in an ownership dispute with the original owner, an account will likely become permanently closed. This is the last thing I wanted for an account worth thousands, as does Yo-Han. In order to assure that this wasn't an original owner dispute, I wanted to meet with the Original Owner in person and I personally concluded that based on evidence from his lifestyle, he could not have recalled the account.

That being said, mine and Yo-Han's initial assumption that this was, in fact, a hacker merely targeting a very high profile character stands correct. With that being said, the plan of action is now simple. With the original owner's help, we have begun the process of having the World of Warcraft account placed back onto Yo-Han's battle.net account. After which, I will be covering the purchase of a new set of cd-keys and transferring all of the main characters onto this new account. Though this is not something we agreed upon in the initial contract, I always do well by my clients. It is a shame that Yo-Han doesn't understand the lengths I go through to ensure that these accounts are able to be retrieved.

That being said, there is another issue to address. Yo-Han has threatened me both physically and financially. He has threatened to show up at my door step and apparently "force" his will. Though I am not sure why this is necessary. He has also threatened to contact my current employer and attempt to have me fired. Again I am not sure why this is necessary, I want both of these threats to remain on the record.

As far as zomgheal, I'm not sure what your issue was with me. But please email me at [email protected] with how I can help you and I'd be happy to assist.

I have been a member for years, way back when this used to be Markee Dragon. Over my time I've seen plenty of members go rogue, but understand that through this I have never done wrong by one of my clients. I see to it that every one of them walks away happy, and I hope that Yo-Han does the same.

As Always,
John Fitch

We are working through this at the moment. I feel if John had explained to me why retreiving accounts were such a lengthy procedure and given me an indication on how long it would take i dont think we would be here. This thread has definately got this process moving and im grateful for this. Im regards to the "threats" i have made i would like to explain.

I am reopening the scam thread on MMOBAY, i know now your on ******(his work) and i have all your details, If i dont get a response by tomorrow regarding a Refund. I will be taking this much much further. I will be in LA in the next 2 weeks for a conference and i will take this a far as it goes. $2800 is a large amount of money and you have been very untrustworthy of it i feel that just because i am in another country you think you can screw people over and think there will be no repercussions.

At this stage when i wrote John this email, it was in retaliation to the email that i posted in the above post, I wasnt explained the lengthy procedure of account retrieval i still had major doubts it was just a hacking and that John was brushing this issue aside. I dont live in the US, I will be in LA next week and the legal advise i received was that if need be, i need to file a police report while i am over there but have all the details and paperwork ready. Theres not much that can be done while in my own country. When i said ill take it as far as it goes i meant legally, i didnt mean for John to take it as a physical or financial threat. I have already apologised to John if he felt threatened in that way. Only recently have we been having regular contact before a couple of days ago it has been like talking to myself. John says hes not sure why these threats were necessary, i wonder if he was on my side of this debacle if he would be so calm about it all. Im actually a really decent guy, but this issue has really taken its toll on me. I cant wait to get this resolved and move on.

Just waiting on blizzard to move the WoW account back now. I've submitted all of the forms etc. last night. The original owner has agreed to assist us with anything if we need it, so rest assured the account should move back smoothly now that we have all the proper measures in place to assure its safety.

^ This is why giving out the SQA is a pain. You never know who truly recalled the account. The owner? The buyer? A hacker? Such a process..been in your shoes john many times lol.

The account has been restored however the character in question has already since been removed from the account, there were another 3 lvl 85s that have also been transferred. Those I don't care about but the hackers have stripped clean the account. just waiting on a reply from John on the next thing we need to do.

Here's where we're at right now.

I've been able to have the original world of warcraft account moved back onto the account thanks to the help provided from the Original Owner. The original owner lives in Richmond, CA which is actually quite close to me so we met up and took care of the documents that had to be submitted to have the WoW account moved back. Now that the account has been moved back, I have found that the characters have been moved off onto a new battle.net account that I was able to trace down to a "Emmanuel Djetou." This has confirmed my hypothesis that the compromise of this account was due to Yo-Han's personal security. I would like to reiterate that I am not responsible for personal account security, however I am happy to continue assisting with the recovery and safety of this account.

At this point I have requested that the characters be moved back onto the original account which is back in Yo-Han's control, and have also requested to have the Secret Question Answer on the account changed. After which I will transfer the main character of interest onto a new battle.net account for Yo-Han out of pocket, as I have pledged that much to him due to our communication issues.

I hope to have this all resolved and closed by tomorrow. John

It seemed as if we were on the home stretch for this issue, however Blizzard has decided to hit us with a random notary form to have the character's transfers reversed. I will be having the notary forms done and mailed out this week.
