Hello, so I'm thinking about purchasing a second account but this time willing to play a bit more risk. The first account I purchased was from a well reputable member, so I didn't run into any hassle. However, I'm now possibly willing to buy an account from a non repped member, if I really want it, but I would just like to clear up some haze.

First off, I want to know more about banning the Original Account. (this is assuming that I'm purchasing directly from the OO who supplies all information including ID)

- Whats the best way to ban the original account? Is there any chance that he can reverse it by calling into Blizzard saying he was hacked?

- Will banning the original account result in anyway of the new account being banned. (the account that I transferred the characters onto)

- When I transfer the characters to the new account, should I leave the first name matched with the ID or change it for security reasons. (like if the OO's name is John Doe, should I keep the new account John Doe or change it to something like Jane Doe)

- What if he calls Blizzard saying his account was hacked and puts a notary on it.
---- a. What exactly is a notary and how would he prevent me from sending in his ID w/o getting account banned.
-----b. What if I send his ID , however he already has a notary on it, what will happen?

- Can you recall a banned account at all?

- If he recalls the original account, what happens to the new account (with the characters) is that recalled as well or does anything happen?

**** Thats all I can think about for now regarding the original owner/account ****

Paypal issues:

- Is there anyway to dispute a payment after 45 days?

- If he mails me a piece of paper that shows proof of delivery, can I still dispute the payment if he recalls the account later on?

- I received a payment from someone who first mailed me $ .01 but then mailed me the full payment, what is that $ .01 suppose to mean/prove and should I do the same?

That is all I can think of for now, I know the basics of trading such as confirming that the user owns the paypal and such, but I really want to make sure I know most the details as well.

Thanks to all in advance that post helpful things.

Some really good questions there naga, bumping for someone in the know to answer.

Will add my own little point about OO Names. Its best to use them when making a new account. You do not have to use the same address, but its your call. Making a new account means you can create a robust security defence including authenticator, your own UNIQUE secret question and answer, and unique email/password.

I will be honest in saying I do not know how far this will protect you from problems (who does nowadays) but I hope it will give you some small help while we wait for bigger fish to swim our way and help.

Hope this helps.

If the Paper includes a tracking number and he has proof of it for the sale transaction, the dispute will be in his favor cause he provided the info

I don't play WoW, but I got your PayPal questions. haha

You can't open a PayPal dispute after 45 days, but if you paid with credit card you can chargeback. Sometimes up to 1 year depending on the credit card.

For piece of paper, I don't think PayPal usually does anything if item is not as described. So the seller has the advantage over you in terms of PayPal. But like before you can just chargeback your credit card if the account is not correct. You can also file an unauthorized payment under specific circumstances.

Not sure about the $0.01. Possible they want to make sure the email address is correct first by testing. Never heard of that.

As a buyer, you can request the seller to send you $0.01 just to get their confirmed address.

On my website, we do free verification (VF Level 2+) so feel free to send over any suspicious members. It's different from MMB Account verification as it doesn't require photo ID. Ask if you have any questions. Check my PayPal FAQ in my signature. It has everything, you'd ever want to know about PayPal.
