Today I saw someone advertising in trade chat that they were selling the 2-man RAF rocket for 10K - I Inquired and she said all I had to do is show them I had 10K to spend by showing it in a trade window and then entering her e-mail address in the RAF section on the wow website.
So I did all that and sure enough, 10 minutes later, I had the mount and being honorable as I am, I paid her the 10K. Her english was not so bad and I figured her story of wanted to buy an account for a friend could be true. But she kept on advertising in trade all night for the same thing, and when I went to Dal landing to try out my new mount - 3 other people there doing same thing.
So if there is a scam involved- what it is?
Stolen credit card? Ya know - If I had a valid stolen card, I could think of a lot better things to do then buy warcraft accounts to turn them into 10K gold, not to mention the risk of getting caught and going to jail because you are bound to leave a trail for police to follow.
Perhaps they are buying accounts to level up and sell, which some companys do anyhow, so why not get 10K gold as well? Although, I know some less-honorable people would just take the mount and not give her any gold at all.
Perhaps a stolen shipment of game cards? I dont know. I will just have to wait and see what happens, I suspect worst that could happen is Blizz will take mount away and perhaps a temp ban, I cant imagine a perma-ban for this, perma-bans = lost money for Blizz and if blizz was not so greedy by ruining the integrity of the game by offering the best things in game to those who can get them more money, like the $25 horsey and RAF mount, then this woulda never happened anyhow.
Well, post any ideas ya have on this matter. I hope I get to keep the mount.
