Question about sending an ID card when selling

I recently bought and account and recived the mans ID card (drivers PERMIT) do be exact.
I was wondering if he recalls the account i bought from him, what legal trouble could i get him into since i have his ID card?

I'm not too sure you can get into much trouble, as you can just say he sent it to you as "collateral" incase the account was taken, just like when you test drive cars etc. If he recalls and you both continually send in ID to recover, the account will just be perma locked because it will be very obvious the account was sold/traded, and then they just leave it at that, they don't puruse which one is the false owner.
