Epicnpc Update Thread

We have reopened, but there's still a lot to do. We'll be making adjustments and fixes over the next week or two before moving on to new features.

If you find any bugs or missing features please post here and I'll try to keep a running list so we can get them fixed asap.

- country flags missing from profile hover and main profile page
- avatar options do not work. Square, rounded and circle. It's always circle.
- Table bb code width can't be changed.
- Timestamps are inaccurate, they show last bump time instead of last reply

 

[The Integrity]

1. Epicnpc icon shows up wherever it shows the last thread for a forum/category.

2. The numbers next to the filters count all threads ever created which is not of much use for a marketplace forum. Either set them to only consider threads up to a month old or remove them completely.

3. The chat button on the left is not properly positioned if the user has the mod or admin badge. Too close to the badge and larger than it, making it look ugly.

usually it's show their flag beside the username if in profile page

Yep, looks great & very clean.
I noticed for now only one thing in the profile customization the „Avatar Type“ isn‘t working. No matter which avatar type i choose it’s always circle.

The only question is that now all the counts, including the number of views, do not stand out (merge) in any way, can they somehow be distinguished?

1. We had a "like" counter before, but that was updated to a "reaction" score in this new update. I found that to be a useless feature so it was removed, but the "like" option remains in posts.

2. You mean a Youtube video right? It looks like if you have "autoplay" enabled it automatically mutes the video. We'll have to look into this.

Due to a browser policy change if a video has auto-play enabled, it will be muted. There's nothing we can do about that, sorry. We were probably using older Youtube embed coding before the update which is why it was not muted before.

OPENING PREVIOUS CHAT DOES NOT WORK​

Hi,

I would like to mention that there is a bug with our chat system. Whenever I try to open a new chat with a member that I spoke to before, it does not direct me to his DMs anymore ( I usually close private DMs with a member to have an order in my chat).

I you have an existing chat with another member and click the 'chat' button, it should open the existing chat. If you never chatted with someone, you'll get a 'send message' page instead.

Can you double check? I was unable to replicate this.

Only chats that appear in your main "Inbox" tab. Chats in the TG, Warning or Group tabs will not automatically open the chat. What is the username of someone that you're trying to chat with and it does not open the chat?

I think it's only the owner of the thread it's doing it to.

it's probably a new feature with this update. It assumes the thread creator doesn't need to read their own post and goes directly to the newest reply.

That's a new feature. We can make improvements in the future, but currently it has no settings for me to adjust so adding a banner is going to be trial and error for now.

There is a new policy for Google/Youtube and most browsers for videos that autoplay. It will automatically mute sound so there's nothing we can do about that anymore. Most likely we were using old embed code for YT videos which is why it still worked before we updated.

I like your profile banner it looks fantastic. I'm also a fan of the LN and manhwa

I would like to echo this comment though. Would it be feasible later to please include the optimal dimensions on the 'Edit profile banner' pop-up? It would save a lot of time from individuals attempting through trial and error. ie;

I find those 3 buttons quite small and unoticable, esspecially when editing thread its hard to find them. Maybe change font color or put them on top , so its easier to find and notice edit/report buttons. Also, having popout chat option when new message is recived , instead just inbox notifi.

Personally I like the faded colour, tell you go to select it, not so in your face, makes the threads look cleaner.

I like the faded look, but maybe it's too faded. We'll make it a little bit brighter.

If your inbox shows 10 notifications, that means 10 different members messaged you. In most cases it's going to be 1-2 messages. I don't think showing the number count for every message would be very useful and would clutter up the interface.

Not sure if this has been covered yet but it appears line breaks are having an issue on this update as well, here is an example of my post that I edited with line breaks for each entry and then what appears once edited

Under that area, there is also a lot of line breaks after saving where there isn't any in the edit section, not sure what is causing this

The bottom of your thread is a mess with bb code. This is a small part, but there's a lot more. If you're copy/pasting from other sites, it can cause problems. I recommend deleting and recreating the bottom 1/3 section.

After almost a year of editing and adding to that post, this is the first time this has happened. Looks like I'm just going to have to redo the entire post.

Whoops this was already reported, well here's another example I suppose, thanks goes to The Integrity!
When looking at the forum this thread is in, and others, some mods' and super mods' names are appearing black when that doesn't match our customization.

Attachments not showing a full image preview. Seems like anything attached is only showing mostly the center of the image uploaded in the 'attachments' area under the post instead of keeping the aspect ratio.

Attachments are just that, attachments. They are not meant to display the images in correct ratio size. If you click an attachment then it shows the full image. Once you add an attachment, click the "insert" button and 'full image' to add the actual image to your thread. If you leave it as an attachment it will just be a square image.
