Another Scam Bust & "Introducing the Jackals"

Not Recently Bumped
Man some of you guys needs to chill out. No one has announced the methods or will announce the methods of the jackals.

Their methods are clean. You guys are jumping to inane
conclusions that couldn't possibly be correct. They aren't hacking and they aren't stalking. They are probably threating jail time or legal actions. That would be enough to scare anyone into giving scammed items back.

As for Kalthunx, Good Job. I love to see scammers get owned.

P.S: LOL I THUNK THE JACKALS COM 2 UR HOUSE WITH SUM GUNS AND MAK U GIV BACK WUT U STOL.

I assume the censored word is actually scammers, but honestly.. if people are dumb enough to actually trade/buy wow accounts, they should get a leason shouldn't they? It's against the game rules to change the owner of any account. It's not even your account, it's blizzard who owns all the wow accounts out there. </div></div>

If you think selling game accounts is wrong, then why are you even on MD. Also if people put time and effort into something such as a character, they should be able to do whatever they want with it.

Go away, seriously.

One of the most ridiculous and ignorant comments I have ever read on this website.

Sorry, gotta be mean =(

You consider yourself a professional hacker, yet you cant even spell "professional" let alone phrase a sentence properly...

Might i also mention, what kind of "professional hacker" uses the SAME Username on the MD Forums and MMOWNED... And spells Professional incorrectly at both places?

I smell a ban on a scammer admitting to be a scammer coming along?

I still think this is funny, you are gonna tug on the wrong cape one of these days, and it's gonna be superman's. You will end up on that ogrish website, in a video of you getting your head sawed off, after crying on camera and begging mommy and daddy to help you.

That's exactly the point dear. You gonna scam the the wrong person one day....and ? Double edged sword. Etc etc

Yeah I guess that works both ways, but don't let all this jackal [censored] go to your head, that type of false power, can come back and hurt you.

I just leave posts like this because, half of these kids are 16-18 which is an educated guess, and if you ever saw the scene in pulp fiction with Samuel jackson, and john travolta, with the kids in that room, that get blown away because they think they are hard [censored]. Just makes me chuckle a bit. The other reason is, this post is made to build a hard image of these guys, and they are trying to be feared, and you are just putting a bullseye on your back for the people that look for stuff like this.
Try being in afghanistan for 2 years, you don't know what fear is.

Your right..."false power" is just as dangerous as a false sense of security which a lot of these scammers have.

Correct again...I would dare to say 13-19 on the scammer side.

I'm gonna get flamed for this but I hate that movie ...:) Never made me chuckle but more roll my eyes and search for the remote HAH

But yes most that think they are "all that" ..usually have a rude awakening.

I did 2 tours in Iraq. I know what fear is...

(3) Combat tours here; Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq (2003) during the initial push into Baghdad...don't come in here pushing being "hard" because you've seen (1) combat tour...you were probably stuck in the rear at a Log Company guarding pallets or at a Field Hospital and saw nothing that even comes close to "fear".

I hate when people think their "badasses" when they have a combat patch and probably never came in contact with (1) insurgent or an insurgents body for that matter.

Go act "hard" somewhere else...

1st of all I doubt you, I was enlisted from 1999, until this march, so [censored], I was medically discharged after a carbomb exploded, and killed 2 of my best friends, and almost severed my left leg. Listen navy boy, ask around about the parris island dozer, and you'll hear alot of stories about me

Anyways, for all of you currently out there, and for people heading out, scammers and joke forum trolls aside, may you all return home safely, and hopefully our gov, will wake up someday, and station us in our own country, where the problems really are.

Navy boy? I think not...Purple Heart I think yes...Parris Island dozer [censored] are you talking about? I was Army I don't know nor do I care about your Marine Corps "fables", no need to bring your war stories here man, there are several people that have seen as much or more than you "claim" to have seen...this is no place for [censored] like that.

Your 2nd paragraph I fully agree with....

I'm happy the guy gave the account back, I just wanna say you better don't go up in the "Jackals" because they will get revenge. Scammers also have websites(I better don't say the name), they can also start some kind of team to scam the guys that scam bust :P (What a sentence)

But the jackals did good job

First of all. English isnt my main language. Secondly i do happen to have account in MMo but so does kathunx and you. Im not scammer even thought i have account in MMo since im only leeching Guides that pay up to 35$ from there. Sorry gotta be mean but you fail.

I need help from the Jackals.

I sold and gave away legit gamecards/bc keys to someone. They paid. All was well. They then "held" the payment and filed a dispute because paypal is [censored] when it comes to virtual goods.

The one guy scammed me for $135. The other scammed me for $90. I'd be willing to pay you guys if need be. They were both douchebags. Thanks.

My aim is the same as my user name if your at all interested in helpin'.

Most of the time, I would agree with you, however, there are always exceptions to the norm. There have been people with 20+ that have scammed others. You never know, for the most part however, you I completely agree with you.

I write guides on how not to be scammed and I have seen the ones in there aswell I really think that new users should go on there before trading.

Even so people out there scam and sometimes you need some help getting whats yours

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: FiNeRaIn</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Nope, sorry. Sounds to me like you condone scamming and stealing, I don't, therefore scammers get exactly what they deserve IMO. Don't steal from people? Then you don't end up getting owned. Sounds like a fair deal to me. These guys aren't targeting innocent law abiding citizens, they are targeting scamming thieves. Also, watch your language, you are breaking the rules. </div></div>

Not that I disagree with the whole "ends justifies the means" to bust scammers, I just find your attitude retarded. "scammers are low, omg they're awful" yet hacking, threats, etc. are ok? It had to be some serious crap that was done if kathunx "can't disclose" it, and it was enough to frighten an anonymous scammer into making a public apology video. At least come off your high horse and admit that what kathunx and these jackals are doing is essentially fighting a wrong with another wrong. Also admonishing someone for "breaking the rules" after praising it is highly ironic

But I am glad someone's doing something to help people against scammers. This rant wasn't against them or kathunx btw, i'm sure they're chill, i just think it's dumb to blatantly ignore the fact that both parties are doing things that are ethically low, praising one person for doing something illegal yet criticizing the other.

Honestly I don't even feel that badly towards people who let themselves get scammed (i can understand kids getting scammed by kids due to naivety but a lot of the victims are older). There are ways to protect yourself from these 15 year old kids. people have taken the time and posted multiple guides, a lot of it is just common sense (e.g. "too good to be true" and "don't deal with people who can't speak english"), scouting out MMOWNED for the latest scams so you don't fall for them, and there's a freaking Scammers forum, yet over time you still see multiple threads regarding the same scammer. If certain people are too lazy to make the efforts to protect themselves, then they deserve what they get.

This isn't directed at those who have made an effort to protect themselves. I just have a friend who refuses to do any research on scams, etc and forces me to do all his selling and buying for him "because he got his mage scammed once and i should feel bad for him." it's irritating to say the least.

One day people are gonna learn how to trade / sell / buy properly..... and won't get scammed, NOT. Looks like some people getting scammed here have a lesser than 10 IQ, I mean seriously.

Phase 1: Jehovah's Witnesses come to his door every day

Phase 2: Signing him up for Play Girl with his name on it.

Phase 3: Hire someone to do a Party Boy right in the middle of his classroom having the guy yell that hes his father.

I just came across this post today after I read something about the "Jackals" on Markee's post of the scammer interviews. I just have a couple of things to add. #1 is I can deffinetly respect the commitment of the so called "Jackals" in helping members right the wrongs done to them.

However on another note I have seen many posts so far that say "If they scammed they deserve it" and so on. While it seems no one but the people who fall under the "Jackals" eyes truly know what they do.

Let me just say this. I have an older brother that lives by the "Eye for an eye" way of life. January of this year he had a friend get robbed by a guy he knew. Being as he is an "eye for an eye" type of guy, he thought he would help his friend the best way he knew how. He went after this guy first with calls, calls to friends, then more constructive means. He eventually ended up at the guys house in an attempt to "collect" for lack of a better way of saying it.

The guy got very combative as any body probably would and pulled a gun. My brother did the same and is being sentenced Feb. of 2009 on 3 very serious felony charges for which he probably spend 5-7 years of his life in prison for.

Why do I tell you this story you ask? Well none of us know what the "Jackals" really do, however Kathunx is definetly attempting to make it look bad. His side stepping of "I don't do anything illegal, what they do however." Is just an attempt to make it look worse. Again I do in a sense agree with what the "Jackals" do, however a word to the wise. If it breeches legalities the police could care less what the person did that you did it to. Wether they robbed you, or your friend, if you do illegal things for retaliation expect that one day you'll find yourself regretting what you did.

As for whos side im on. I think its good that we finally have a scam busting group that strikes fear into the people that would scam us, but none the less, I think this mystery and attempt to make it seem so much worse is wearing a little thin.

I do have one question though, why is that everyone affected by the "Jackals" is "not at liberty" to say what it is they did. If you are really attempting to help the community and are in no way involved in illegal activities why should your identities remain hidden? Just a thought.

That is a very true statement. Although i question the negative rep you have, I respect what you say and I think you are one of the very few mature members we have here.

Yea the rep was due to a misunderstanding, unfortunately it was not resolved, but I agree it is partially correct. Scammer is a bit much, but it was a misunderstanding that wasn't resolved.

ok dont get me wrong i hate scamming just as much as the next person, and have been scammed a few times myself, at the end of the day scamming isnt really a "crime" because lets not forget by trading and selling accounts/gold etc e are all actually breaking the law by breaking the EULA from blizzard we all agreed to when making our accounts. secondly these jackals, tbh all the good scammers will comfortably get around them, i mean back when i did the scamming and hacking game i was pretty smart about it only did it in internet cafes, gave fake names and numbers in other words making it completely impossible to track, id even use proxy sites at the internet cafe just to be safe, so even if these guys are awesome hackers they cant get to someone that is that kinda scammer where they plan the scam to the finest detail, for example they will even swap computers at the cafe every 10 mins or so, make contact under multiple logins, and then there is the classic scam of getting the third party transfer through IRC or something like that, one of my personal faves that one, get a mate to join as you say next person to join will be our third party soon as he gives details "third party" leaves making it appear you both got scammed meanwhile ur sitting pretty with both accounts. now finally as i said not condoneing scamming but tbh if the scammer is a seasoned pro like i used to be (note i dont do it anymore cos i really cant be bothered with all the effort that comes with doing it properly) they are impossible to trace. end of. no matter how good you are, im a pretty good hacker and even i couldnt trace back my steps when i was doing it and i knew what was happening. so how could a stranger who doesnt kno whats happening at the time do it. especially considering places like internet cafes have dynamic ip addresses as well meaning its impossible to track a pc there the next day. nuff said this really is a waste to the pro scammer and all you will catch is a few kids. again not condoning hacking or scamming and i agree scammers deserve punishment but honestly there is a slim chance if any that a good scammer is even going to be traceable. heck i even had multiple people working on scams when i did them back in the day.

once again i would just like to re-iterate i do not condone scamming nor do i practice scamming anymore.
