Crime is a crime. The only difference is that a crime in US, could be not a crime in a different country.

My guess is that they Track IP's and would call him/family (if he was idiot enouf to give a phone number
Now, actually "The Jackals" commit a worse crime : Braking of the privacy, stalk the victims (Call them whole the time I guess), Threatning
All THIS crimes are real life crime's and exceed the virtual world. This makes "The Jackals" for the police alot worse criminals then the actual scammer.

It could be a crime also, depending what they do. Defamation/harassment/vigilante could you get you easily in troubles, including criminal prosecution.

(You know scammers are probably alot smarter then the Jackals and might even report them to the police, not every scammer is a kid (Thats what I think) some of them are really good)

Read mmowned then find a moron, even a monkey could do it.
Well, Kathunx is playing a very dangerous game. He is associated with Jackals, and actually he is the "leader". His strategy will work mostly against kids/college students.
Jackals can't do really anything to me. Personally I can't even imagine what they can do without breaking a bunch of serious laws.
Well lets see how it will go, its quiet entertaining right now.
Edit:
@d4nKy Your sig is really annoying, its like almost half of my screen :-( And cyrillic too, your misspelled AIM means a "house" in one of the slavic languages.
