Verification upgrades for EpicMembers now available [ID not required]

A new usergroup has been created called EpicMember Premium.

EpicMember Premium will have all the same perks the Verified upgrade has but members will not have to provide an ID image!

Personal security is very important today so it's understandable that some members are not comfortable sending their ID image to us. However this restricts them from being able to obtain some of the upgrades available to Verified members.

To fix this issue, EpicMembers will now be able to receive all the same Verified upgrades in the EpicMember Premium level.

How do I get the upgrade?

You have to have 20 positive feedbacks and 100% rating
Purchase the upgrade ($15) by selecting 'EpicMember Premium Upgrade' from the payment page

Other Information

Once the purchase is completed, your account will be reviewed to make sure requirements have been met.
The upgrade can take up to 24 hrs to appear on your account.
Only one EpicMember badge will display. Either the EpicMember and EpicMember Premium badge, not both.

I think this is not fair for old Epic members with 20+ feedbacks (now Verifed) like me, but that is your decision.

I think that this is not a very good idea. There should be a third rank in between that grants all the permissions as verified members, but have a different title and badge, that indicates a lesser level of verification.

[HIDE=1000]From my experience with hundreds of buyers here, most of them seem to completely trust me just because I'm verified. Even when I was just beginning and had less than 10 feedbacks. If you make the verified rank available to everyone, it WILL be abused and the "trust" of the rank would be reduced.
There are thousands of trades daily here on epic, and so many members are selling cheap things (1-5 dollars) that you can buy just to increase feedback. It's not really a problem to "invest" a few dozen bucks to get those 20 feedbacks and get verified. Then you could simultaneously scam 5-6 people for hundreds of dollars each and completely get away with it.

Even though most (all?) of the time no legal action is taken against verified members who have submitted documents and committed scams, there is still the fear that they are going to get in trouble if they commit fraud, that is preventing them from actually committing it.
These new verified members will not have that fear and the scam rate will increase. Even if they have never planned ahead and thought about scamming, some of them might actually do it after they find out that they can. For example, someone who has 30 accounts or other stuff that he wants to sell, registers on epic in order to sell them. He gets 30 feedback and no longer has anything to sell and a need to use this forum. He can then get the verified rank and start scamming (I heard of this already happening before).

There are many other examples about abusing the new system...
Please reconsider about this change. In my opinion, implementing multiple levels of verification, where the highest one is the current verified rank is a great solution to this problem, with no less profit for you.[/HIDE]

I am going to have to agree with the posters in most ways. Premium member status for those who do not have an id or choose not to submit id is great. It really is just a premium membership. But to call it verified is not fair as it really isn't being verified, more of approved.

Good, Its more profitable and an advantage to the website and have more money to be able to run the website. But I dont like the way EpicMember can now upgrade into Epic verified without the i.d thing (use stolen paypal acct and can't provide i.d?) it's an advantage for possible scammers or someone with hidden bad intention. From Epic verified (without i.d) so they can easily upgrade for Professional Seller Premium and to become more trusted and in the end someone reported them for scamming.

Requirements to have 20 positive feedbacks and 100% rating isn't that hard they can work for it in any way as they can get more what they want if they start to scammed someone in the end.
More profit for the website>More profit for the scammers>Poor us got scammed because he is Epic verified/premium we trust him

Then talking about security, I think its better to care more for the security of the website and to protect US rather than those random people who upgrade who cant submit i.d i dont care for them

i think Epic Verified should really be kept to those tat submitted the id. maybe there can be another rank like Epic Member Rank 2 or something since they aint really verified by id.

Being verified is one of the most trusted rank on the site due to id submission, tis shouldnt be compromise due to members nt feeling comfortable wif submitting their id.

I agree with much of what was said above so I've decided to create a new usergroup instead.

EpicMember Premium has been created.

EpicMember Premium will have all the same perks the Verified usergroup has, just a different name to distinguish between those that have provided ID and those that did not.

I don't see a purchase of the Epic Member upgrade on your account. Only Verified and Pro Seller. Even if the Epic Member badge was removed, the purchase should still show up on your account, but it doesn't.

Do you know when you purchased it? I'll have to check Paypal to see if I can find the payment.

i bought it few years ago with paypal
it was important that paypal and my id had same name one time payment of 10-20usd cant remember exactly

if the live chat has history i think i contacted you directly few months ago about the same problem, it was fixed then but when i bought pro seller it went away again i think.

The EpicMember upgrade is only $3 or $4, depending on the length of time you select, and was added less than 2 years ago to the site.

I think you're talking about the Verified upgrade which was $10, but it's already on your account.

Really? So let's say a scammers return with a new different IP then upgrades to Member so that he/she then can become Verified without having to give out his ID...

Glad you made two different Verified usergroups. So people can tell which one provided ID scans to EpicNPC and whichone have not.
For me i would buy anytime from a Verified who provided ID scam that it's who he say he is rather then buying from a Verified that haven't provided his/her ID scan.

Epicnpc's ideas were not always the brightest, including this one, but it's great to see the management always take into consideration the feedback and eventually find a solution that would benefit us all.

With this ocasion, I want to reiterate the fact that you might want to re-think the "import feedback" feature and instead of not being able to update it, you could ask for a small fee from us for every update that we request. This way, we can keep our feedback from other websites updated and you'd also make some money. Alternatively, instead of a fixed small fee, you can put a small fee that increases every time we request a feedback update, like a progression ( $1, $1.5, $2 till $20, for example ), just like Wow respec or D3 rerolling systems. This way you'd be sure the system won't get abused/spammed, as the price for a feedback update would evenually become too high to be abused.

Also, couldn't find how the new badge looks like, so it would be great if you could share it in this thread. I am aware that " Only one EpicMember badge will display. Either the EpicMember and EpicMember Premium badge, not both", but if it looks cool, i might spend $15 just to replce the old one ( which also looks very nice ), purely for esthetic considerations

I'll see about adding an option that would allow members to updated their imported feedback once very x days.

The fee is already built in since only upgraded members can import. Another fee to import would be too much.

Wanted to buy it, but when i try to upgrade i get the message "Your Account has been already verified" and it redirects me to the index. Not sure if you're aware of this, but wanted to let you know. If you're aware and it's working as intended ( so epic members can't buy epic premium badge ), then just remove my epic member badge, so I can buy the premium one

EpicMember requires no ID
EpicMember Premium requires no ID, but you need 20 positive feedback or more. You must also be approved by admin.
EpicVerified requires ID
