Was a middleman used?
No - we did sit on skype for just short of 2 hours waiting to hear back from 2 different ones however both were AFK and I was getting a little impatiant and had to head out so we went ahead and got it done with (he at first recommended Geek but got ahold of him and he no longer was doing middleman)
Provide information about the dispute and what lead to it:
Pretty straight forward. Sold the account then contacted Trion customer support 2 weeks later claiming he couldn't access his account and didnt know the current email address and that he hadn't logged in in months and had the information reset.

PMs between us on this board are available however I believe the mods can go through and read those if need be so to save time and have less clutter here to go through i'll leave them out. But this guy, unfortunately, has a history with several banned accounts here. Infact the morning of the 27th, the day after the account was stolen back (and when I went to log in and discovered it) I came here to gather some contact info and I already saw the account he used to sell, Riftaccountforsale, had already been banned and it appeared it had just happened that day so someone else was already onto him. His other accounts on this board that I discovered (unfortunately too late =/)...

So obviously the claim in the chat log that he hasnt logged in and implying someone stole the account is a bad ruse, he has been using the emails reomerican and fthornton423 for years as you can see from his other accounts and the threads started there. The paypal was also done to his mother's paypal account. Very quick and easy to confirm the relationship and shared last name that was on and used for the account (and proof/names can all be provided to a mod if they want, obviously cant put that personal info up here)

Did you do any background searching before the transaction?
Unfortunately not really, searching the email didnt bring much up and google searches did bring up a plethora of a digital trace on the guy with where he was from, family names and traces to dozens of other boards using the same name but nothing of mention that he was a scammer. There are no threads within the active/known/resolved mentioning him, only discovered after searching his username and variations and finding old threads linking to other banned accounts.
