Referral system

Is the referral system gone from epicnpc? I know it was present few years ago.

We had a system a long time ago, maybe 5 years ago, but probably longer. No one really used it so we discontinued it. There's no plans at this time to bring it back.

Pity. I was just about to suggest that Referral system would be implemented.
As for "no one was using it" - most likely it was not attractive enough.

For example if site every time would pay 1% of item value out of middleman fee to whomever referred person who pays Middleman fee or 0.5% to who invited buyer and 0.5% seller - there would be a very big motivation to invite/refer people.
There could be some buffers added like money could be withdrawn after 30 days, minimum amount, that hasnt been charged back, etc.

I think it’s an interesting concept, but the appeal is not really there for everyone due to the low or moderate transaction values. Traders would have to consistently promote the service to even get a shot to close a sale with next to no return.

Plus if someone likes a product or service they will likely discuss or recommend it to their friends or family, without any type of expectation of incentives in return. You can look up the statistics online, but this has been apart of marketing for years. Sellers will naturally promote their places of business, so will buyers when they have a positive experience.

Appeal is not for everyone, but those who want to earn some money (i know many who do stuff for cents (like participate in surveys, play free roulette, etc)) or those who are able to invite people at mass scale for relatively cheap price. Also it would make it worth start inviting big traders from other sites (as referrer could offer some bonuses to them).
Never underestimate what people would do for even small amount of money

Friends and family recommendation is good as its effective, but its not game changer as it touches just a few people, takes long time.

Our old system had rewards. We didn't have a MM system at that time, but referrers received 10% of purchases for credits or upgrades and activity was still very low. It's must not worth the effort to develop and maintain when only a dozen or so members will be actually using it. Sorry.
