Protecting Yourself From Battle.net Account Recall

Are there any hard fast rules to this? I know changing the name is possible by paying someone to commit a felony (forging documents), aside from that... What are the best ways to secure the account?

* Change email to one seller doesn't know.
* Petition to change secure question/answer.
* Change address information.
* Change battle tag.

I began to get curious when I was reading thru the dispute forum and saw accounts sold up to 3 months ago getting recalled... One brutal story of an $1800 WOW account being recalled...

Banned - multiple unresolved scam threads - scammer

There is no way to protect yourself 100%. You just have to buy from trusted members with guarantees. There is always a recall chance.

You can do many things to get the account out of possesion of the seller once you buy it however, the character/toon will always be traceable no matter if you buy server transfers, faciton changes, race changes, name changes, or anything for the character.

Create a new battlenet in the OO name of the account you want to xfer
buy a new set of keys
transfer the char from the existing account to the new account (same oo name on both but you control the 2nd one along with sqa)
then email privacy@blizz and ask them to remove the personal info on the old bnet account.
after 14 days they close the account and it can no longer be logged into.

by law they must delete your personal info so the account becomes non traceable as far as I am aware.
I am not a lawyer but I believe privacy info is sacrosanct.

just a thought anyway.
