Hello all.

This is more of an opinion thread for the moment, until I see what response I get from Bullcrit.

Yesterday, I purchased a character from the MD user Bullcrit (+10 positive). The transaction went over fine and all that jazz.

I log in today when I get home from work and I am getting BOMBARDED with tells that I am a ninja looter. There is even a post on the WoW forums about it (I can link it for a moderator). Because of the Christmas holiday, I do not have the funds to move the character to a new account as I spent my expendable cashflow on this character and presents for others.

I would assume that Bullcrit knew the reputation of this character before he sold it to me and I do not appreciate the deceit. I believe that it is the characteristic of a lousy human being do such a thing as this.

My question to you folks would be what to do in this situation. Here is my mindset:

1) Let the moderators/admins attempt to get a hold of Bullcrit.
2) If he does not respond by A) Providing a solution to the issue at hand or B) a full refund for the transaction, then C) I will have to file a chargeback with my bank.

Nothing has been touched on this character other than I bought a piece of Honor Gear and then farmed about 30k+ honor yesterday.

BTW, the WoW post came in long before I had the character and the date of the WoW thread shows that.

My honest opinion on this is he needs to give a refund. Even though , yes, we need to xfer our new toon off of the account to a new one. Now if the guild or any member of that guild reports the toon for this infraction, the account runs the risk of either 1. being flagged 2. being temp banned 3. perm bann depending on how many infractions the account has had. You may lose all together.

Get a refund of your funds back via your bank. If he is not responding, he knew what he was doing.

I left him several messages on AIM this evening and he decided to log off without responding.

I have filed claim with Paypal to attempt to get his attention and freeze the funds.

We will see if that spurs a reaction from him.

This is kind of a weird post. Don't see them too often, but just to highlight on HSViper's post, a refund SHOULD be given.

With the tools we have out there, if people really wanted to pursue you (the character) they can trace name changes and server xfers. Not to mention the fact that you could have a banned / temp banned character soon.

I agree on this. Even though it was a smooth trade, and everything went according to plan, you could basically say he sold you "stolen goods" if you look at it in the context of a real tangible item.

Just like if someone sold you a stolen car, you received the product, but now you have to bear the problems with that product. Just in this case there are no legal ramifications

Thanks for your opinions Loner. I am going to file my chargeback today. The problem with chargebacks with my bank is that they have to send you a new card when you file a chargeback. So, that is 2 weeks without a check card. Oh what fun ><

He is being unresponsive to any and all of my AIMs. I hope that Alex can get a hold of him with the user notification.

Sorry, I missed this thread and have been very busy over the holidays which is why I am so late in responding to this thread and your IM's, knucklehead. As you said, this issue has been resolved (well, we're almost there). Anyways, I would still like to give my account of what happened.

First off, I received this account from a close friend. He, however, did not tell me that he had done shady looting (he apparently ninja looted some epics and gave them to guildies) before he gave me the account. I had NO knowledge whatsoever that there was bad rep on this account.

Anyways, me and knucklehead agree on a price, he paid in full and I gave him all info etc, transaction went very smooth and he was a great, understandable buyer. The next day, he IM's me and I was out so I was unable to respond (I'm sorry if this seemed like I was dodging your attempts to contact me, I should have given you my cell number or something before hand). It turns out that there is in fact a forum post on the official WoW forums with a user complaining about the whole ordeal.

Well, we talked on AIM and he demanded that I give the funds back and he will return the account. I figured that we don't really need to go through all the trouble and a server + name change would alleviate the problem and be <span style="font-style: italic">much</span> faster in solving it. After a bit, we both agreed that this is the easiest course of action. Currently we are waiting on Paypal to reverse or cancel the dispute, but some technical problems with their website are preventing that. If anyone wants an update on the situation, I will gladly give one once the dispute is canceled I pay for a server/name change.

I was thinking the direct opposite. (Not about Knuckle having it under control)

[censored] Happens. Its an invetiable truth. [censored] will happen.
However, Bullcrit responded in a very professional and well spoken manner. No doubt the problem was on Bull's end, but Bull fixed the problem in a reasonable time frame. I judge a business by how well it can handle unexpected speedbumps. It looks like Bull handled this speedbump. Way to do the right thing Mr. Bull, I wouldn't hesitate to do business with you after reading this thread.

Thank you Holloway, I appreciate your input.

Anyways, today we were finally able to get a competent Paypal rep, the dispute was canceled and I gave knucklehead a $25 payment to cover a transfer/name change. All in all, he was very mature and patient throughout the whole ordeal. We both now are content with the outcome of this transaction. Or at least I know I am, guess I can't speak on knuckle's behalf, heh.
