I have been scammed.
I got in touch with jaek1m99 about the account they were selling. We agreed that I would pay $270 for the account.
At first, they offered Skrill as payment method. I signed up for Skrill but couldn't transfer money to their account, possibly because my account hadn't been open for long enough.
But jaek1m told me that PayPal would be fine. So I went there to pay the $270. They requested that it should be under 'friends & family' - I realise this was quite foolish of me and in retrospect should've paid as a business transaction so I can claim the money back. I also assumed this method would avoid any excessive fees for them. They're a seller with multiple positive reviews that look reasonable. Boy was I wrong. They have not responded to my discord or epicnpc messages since recieving payment - their last message to me was on discord at 6:46PM ("yep lemme just reset pc brb") and it is now approaching 1AM the next day. (GMT)
Since we didn't use TG I know I can't get my money back, which is a shame, but I'll be okay. I'm lucky enough to be in a better place financially than I was a few years ago. It's other people I'm worried about, someone might be in a really dark place and this happening to them could tip them over the edge. I want to warn people about this invidiual.
