Hi guys, I have been on the forums for quite some time now. I have managed to sell some stuff here before. The most expensive account I have sold was for over a 1000€. I have sold it to a man that I still keep in touch. He was genuine buyer and paid with PayPal friends and family. It has been four years now and we are all good. No recalls on either side.
I am trying to sell an account for good few thousands euros now. I am the genuine seller and I don’t want to get any charge backs etc.
Please if you can let me know on how to be 100% when selling an account now.
Thanks
1. So, you might be wondering, does it really matter if you have the original email for a Steam account? Well, here's the deal: having the original email only becomes important when the account has no purchases on it. If there are already purchases, it doesn't really make a difference.
2. Now, let's talk about recovery. When it comes to Steam purchases, there's no such thing as absolute safety. Many people recover their accounts after one or two years, regardless of whether there are purchases on it. But here's the catch: depending on your country, you might not be able to chargeback your bank payments. For example, in the UK, there's a 180-day limit, while in Germany, it's 360 days. So, it's important to check the specific rules for your country. As for PayPal, there's a 180-day limit.
3. Now, let's discuss what can make buying a Steam account a bit safer. Look for sellers who are willing to provide the following information: a government ID with a photo, a driver's license with a photo, proof of address, proof that the PayPal name matches the name on the ID card (this can be used by middlemen in trade guardian to prevent the use of stolen PayPals, as it's becoming a common trend). Also, ask for proof of Steam purchases by having them forward them to your email, and make sure they can provide the original creation email linked to the account. Additionally, ask for the original phone number used to register the account and the associated email. You can verify if they're telling the truth by asking for the email that mentions the registration of a phone number around the same time as the account creation.
4. Use secure payment such as crypto
That's all I wanted to share with you. It may sound extreme, but the truth is, having the original email offers you zero layers of protection.
