How to get money back if I am scammed?

Hello there,

I was in the process of buying a mage today from the user wowtradez. WE had it worked out to where I sent him half the payment, received the account info, gave him half the payment, and was given the rest of the information.

I gave him half the payment, and he gave me a faulty username / pass. I told him it was wrong, and he proceeded to give me a chain of other wrong passwords and usernames before logging out.

I've e-mailed him on all the e-mails I can find, and opened a disputed the second he logged off with paypal.

My question is, how will it work with paypal? Will they even deal with online accounts? And what should I do to get my money back?

Is there a way to find someones shipping address and phone number through paypal? Thats one thing i would like to do - call this kid (Or, most likely, his mother) and demand my money back.

What kind of legal rights do I have here? I'm not wanting to spend a ton of moeny getting a little bit of cash back, but it would be nice to know what kind of protection I have in a court setting.

Anyway, thanks for all your answers and for reading this.

file a claim with paypal saying you never got your order. if he doesnt respond to paypay with a reason why he didnt give you what you bought they will refund you.

This was the same guy who wanted to buy my account and then for no reason blocked me :P If you look at his thread (something about buying 60+ alliance) someone else points out that hes a scammer. Hes a really shady person.

Thats what I figured. Its a good thing I'm pretty stocked with funds at the moment, heh. If it had been last month i'd have been pretty screwed.

Its 20 days minimum for the refund right?

You may lose with paypal. Your best bet is to try and get his phone # and call him up.

"You may lose with paypal."

How so?

I was trying to do that, but I have no way to really. I have little info - a few e-mails, an AIM name, paypal e-mail, and a markee name with 6 posts.

I just got scammed the same way , Last night it was a guy with the name Otto Stegmier on paypal , And today a guy on MD ewing(29200) and icecreaam(29831). These are all scammers using the same scam.
