Feedback System Updated - New 5 Star Rating!

A major update has been done to our feedback system changing it to a new 5 star system. Members can now also easily give feedback to seller's at the top of their threads again and there were a bunch of bug fixes also.

The reason for the change is so that members can give more accurate feedback to each other. Sometimes a feedback is not always positive, neutral or negative.

If you notice no stars on your profile it's because we have to rebuild the feedback stats. This will take up to an hour.

We also still display Positive, Negative, Neutral in various places, so it will use this calculation.

1, 2 stars = negative
3 = neutral
4, 5 = positive

If you notice any bugs or problems with the new system, please post here and we'll have it fixed asap.

Well I know that 1,2 stars is negative, but what causes you to have 1,2 stars? :D

For example, how many starts would you have in these cases:
15p/1n 20p/1n 25p/2n
 
So just one negative or neutral feedback is half star gone permanently? :(

Can a Buyer/Seller request a change from 4 star to 5 star or Neutral to Positive with selective 4 or 5 stars? Isn't this will cause more works than before but the outcome is kinda the same? Other rating websites like Ebay , Amazon have 5 Star system but their 3 star is acceptable when rating a product. In here, Neutral is kinda a Negative thing when there is a problem that solved between seller/buyer. Is it count as Average on Epicnpc if Buyer receive their Order but they don't like to pay with invoice or paypal and Seller only accept it and they mark it as Average? Since most people understand stars rating system on popular site rather than a simple trade up.

Another Example:
- Seller have a delay on delivered the Goods but eventually everything work out . Buyer received and happy but kinda wait for sometime. He does a feedback rate as Average because he have to wait longer than expect.
- Boosting. Buyer received their boost correctly but missing some points or delay a bit. Buyers also understand and accepted. When he did his feedback, since 3 star is acceptable as Average on Epicnpc. The booster will also get the neutral despite his successful boosting.

We made a change so the stars calculations is more accurate. Feedback is currently being updated and will take up to an hour again to complete.

5 - 4.76 = 5 stars
4.26 - 4.75 = 4.5 stars
3.76 - 4.25 = 4 stars
....

I'll think about adding gold for 5 stars, but there will be more restrictions. Probably just for members that have the "Trusted" upgrade or "Pro Seller" upgrade or something like that.

We're not going to update it soon because it'll requires another feedback rebuild, but we'll come back around to this once our to-do list is almost done.
 
Would be nice to show under stars number if people who rated seller,having 5 stars based on 1-2 reviews is not same as having 5 stars based on 400+ reviews.

We changed it because of the examples you posted.

Buyers felt obligated to give positive feedback because even neutral feedback on the old system was seen as negative, but this doesn't accurately represent many transactions. Now members can give 4 star or 3 star if a sale ran into problem, but was eventually completed successfully.

Perfect feedback ratings shouldn't exist. SetsunaEpic you have 2000+ feedback, all positive. I would find in hard to believe that you've never had an issue with a customer. 5 star rating is more accurate and it's still possible to have 5 starts even if someone has a few non-5 star ratings.

Great update, we needed a system that showed if trans went decently, the world is not black and white, pos/neg is not a good system, costumers were forced to give positive unless scammed basically, it doesw not rapresent reality.
If we could have a shoutbox it would be great too, so that we can interact with other members.

Got negative when buyer tried loggin in wrong account, after I talked to buyer admin changed it to neutral, so "SetsunaEpic " said good thing

Hi EpicNpc, I didn't see your response till now. I can safely says that, my rating are 100% happy customer without an complain/issue from the beginning. Happy meaning if there is a problem and a quick resolve that satisfied them, it still a good review. I only had one sale when I gave buyer wrong account but I correct myself and customer is extremely happy and just left me a good review.

From my experience, buyers will only write a review if they are happy or Sellers not resolved an issue with their products/service or they wont even bother. There are buyers who will always not satisfied even if everything was done correctly on sellers side & it will hurt sellers a lot. This system will be good for Boosting Service since timing & communicating are keys but might not be for others. No sellers want neutral or even 4* if they already did their job or correct their mistakes for Buyers. Sellers also won't want to left 3-4 star review to their buyers because it obviously upset their buyer even if buyers are annoying to work with.

Is this going to happen? It would be very helpful to differenciate between a member with 1feedback and 5stars, and another with 50feedbacks 1 star + it's aesthetic
