Sale/Trade Information
######################
What was bought, sold or traded?
-A high end game account for Wakfu.

Link of transaction thread:

Approximate value of property:
-I paid a total of $310 for the account. The items were worth around $450, and the bare account itself would be worth around $50.

Was a middleman used?:
-No
If yes, who?

Describe why you believe the feedback is wrong:
-The seller hacked my email, got access to the account and robbed its value after he sold it to me. He only applied a negative to my account AFTER I placed one on him for what he had done.

Proof
######################
Sadly this is the classic case of he said, she said. Not much in the way of proof other than the chat logs you guys will have between he and I. The last four digits of his cellphone number matched the numbers hooked into my email account, but that has since been changed after I called him out on it/reported it in my complaint to the IC3.

edit:
I have been unable to get any information out of Wakfu as they have a stolen account recovery page: https://support.ankama.com/hc/en-us/articles/201376923-my-account-was-stolen-what-do-i-do-.

As the seller was the original owner he was able to bypass any emails being sent to me while he was recovering the account.

The account, and my email are still completely out of my control. Although it doesn't much matter at this point as it is useless now, and my charge back on him was done.

Additional Information
######################
Did you do any background searching before the trade? No
Have you traded with this person before? No
Approximately how many trades have you done on EpicNPC ? 15 or so over the past few years.

Other details / notes:

This seller was sketchy from the beginning. He was unable to receive Paypal payments as his account was locked/banned from some ridiculous story he had come up revolving around someone stealing his identity to use paypal.... Had to figure out different method to get a payment through so we went through Playerauctions.com. He posted the sale, and I purchased it through there. $310 in total for the account. Sale concluded, information was sent to me, and I had the email changed over to one I made just for the account. I logged into the account to find a lot of items missing from characters that were said to have been there. As player auctions has a timer that allows me to verify the account before they fund it I contacted the seller and demanded he return the removed items. After a long talk he decided to return the items. A few days later I log into the game on this account and see that all valuable items had been stripped from every character. I immediately attempted to log into my email account, and much to my surprise my password was not working at all. I attempted to go through the password recovery, but the account had been linked to a cellphone number I'd never heard of. I did some looking around on skype, and figured out that the cellphone number that was now tied to my email's verification process was the EXACT same cellphone as this user through skype.
I immediately realized what had happened. My email was hacked, the account was accessed by the seller, and completely stripped. I attempted to contact the seller through EpicNPC messages, as well as multiple messages through skype. He outright denied any involvement even after I gave him his exact cellphone number obtained from the verification process of my email. After he stopped communicating I contacted Playerauctions, and they said their investigation process could take up to a month. I decided this was not acceptable. I contacted Paypal who placed a hold on the funds. They informed me to contact my bank immediately. My bank placed a reversal on the funds, and instructed me to contact a government agency called the IC3 to report this user for THE FEDERAL CRIME OF Internet Fraud and Abuse. I went to their website and filed a complaint (which is currently being processed).
My thoughts that the seller was responsible for this were even further confirmed when, a few days later, the items that were taken off the account were starting to pop up on the auction boards from the same character who had traded me the items he removed during the initial selling process. I came here and posted a negative mark on his account, and he immediately posted back accusing me of stealing his items and doing a charge back. While I DID do a chargeback, it was only after the seller hacked my email, stole all of the valuable items from the account, and outright refused to return them after many messages sent.

As far as the thread of me reselling this account being marked as "sold": The account A)No longer had the items stated on it, and B)Was no longer under my control. I locked the thread as sold to keep people from asking about it.

MisterTuggles claims Monkeydkev hacked back into the email and account and then stripped it

Please answer the following:

1) Did you received access to the email address on the wakfu account?
2) Did you change the email address once you gained control of the wakfu account?
3) PM me the email address that was hacked which was on the Wakfu account when it was stripped

MisterTuggles has stated he is unable to recover the Yahoo email address, even though he is the one that created it.

Monkeydkev stated you sold the account to someone else

Monkeydkev said:
I sold him an account everything was good for the first week or so,Then he claims he have sold the account on these forums so now we know that the account has a 3rd owner then he claims that i have hacked his email to obtain his password. So after doing some research it goes to show he sold the account and that person he sold it to scammed him and now he wants to chargeback and put me at fault

How do I know what he's saying isn't true?

Monkeydkev has been email notified.

I called Yahoo the day after it happened. Waited on hold for right around two hours. I gave her all of my info, none of it matched. I even asked if they could check to see when the password was changed, so I could give her the original, and the girl pretty much outright refused because the info I had was not matching hers.

The email was created as a combo of two of my character names from Eve Online, Gorobo and Garaba. Can screen shot those for some verification of it, but as I said, the email account is completely out of my control. I've attempted a few times to get it back, but basically gave up after I did a chargeback since it no longer mattered.

That being said, after the initial "hack" of the account I did try to change the email to a different address. If you want access to that email address I can give it to you. It still has the change of email confirmation and security code in my inbox (dated on 12/29, 12/30). You can also see the invoice from Player Auctions which has all the previous account information. I also provided you with the information on my IC3 complaint. This is a complaint that has been directed to the right legal authorities involving this issue. The seller broke the Internet Fraud and Abuse law for not only stealing the value out of the account, but by hacking my email address.

Not sure what else I can do in this situation with the negative rating. I've given all the information I can, even going so far as providing the login information to a complain I've filed against the seller for internet fraud and abuse.

If this information doesn't suffice, then I apologize for wasting your time.

As for the account being "sold": There is no way to mark a thread closed, and I was getting a lot of responses from it. As the account was A) Stripped by the seller, and B) no longer under my control/secure I marked the thread as sold so people would no longer ask about the account, or the items.

Also, PA is saying nothing about the dispute. I paid for the insurance on the sale of the account. When I contacted them they said the investigation would take some time to do. I was not going to wait around for 2-4 weeks for action to be taken so I immediately called Paypal who placed a hold on the funds, and informed me to call my bank as soon as I got off the phone. I called by bank, reversed the charges, and they instructed me to file a complaint with the IC3. If this were a small sum of money that changed hands I may have left it to PA to do their investigation, but I paid over $300 on the account. Was not going to allow that kind of money to be in "limbo" until PA came up with whatever verdict they wanted. Especially knowing that Ankama has a pretty easy method for "original owners" of accounts to recover them with hardly any hassle.

And just as a preemptive answer to the "seller" saying that I am selling all of his items off of the account on this site: I have been purchasing multiple millions of kama and items from others on this site. You can check my feedback history. There have been multiple transactions between myself, and I believe 2-3 other sellers.

I'm confused now.

So when the person hacked your Yahoo email and accessed your Wakfu account, they didn't change the password or email on the Wakfu account? Is this how you were able to change the email to something else?

Do you have full access to the Wakfu account at this time?

The email password was changed. As I've stated multiple time, I have zero access over that email address anymore. I was unable to recover it as Yahoo allows you to change all personal information. Again, after waiting on hold for nearly two hours the girl couldn't confirm any of my information on the account as it was changed.

The password on the Wakfu account remained the same after the initial hack. As I stated. I also saw the seller's alt selling the items in question on the in game auction board. I assume the seller was thinking that I would re-equip the account as to play it, or to get it ready for sale. As soon as I saw the account was empty I changed the email address over to a new email (I have the confirmation of that in the actual email account, and you can have access to that if you would like), and right around that time I ended the actual sale thread I had for the account. I am not sure if it sent an email to the gorobo email address to confirm it or not. As I have no access to the email address I don't know if they send a confirmation to verify the account change.

I do not have any access to the wakfu account. I tried to do a "send a password to email", but I am not sure where it went at all. As I said previously, Ankama has a pretty straight forward process of recovering accounts if you are the original owner via a driver's license, knowing the original email, etc.

I added a warning to Monkeydkev's account for not replying.

However there's not enough evidence for a ban. I don't know if your Yahoo was hacked and if it was how Monkeydkev could have possibly hacked into. Maybe you have a keylog on your comp, but since you weren't able to recover the Yahoo account I wasn't able to confirm the hack, so I can't ban Monkeydkev.

The warning will remain on his account and the neg feedback will remain on yours. The reason it will remain is because you weren't able to prove that his claim was false.

If you can get access to the Yahoo account, I can reopen this, but there's not enough evidence to prove your story.
