I know you ve heard this a million times, but I felt like posting about it once again. I don't think this point can be stressed enough times. When you trade accounts or buy accounts, and you place that little toon into a fresh new account, make sure you change the first name on the account. You have no idea how many accounts can get recalled by scammers, simply by tracking the first name of the account.

This should not of happened to me, given my experience, and the amount of trades I ve done, but hey I was careless, and well it did, so learn from my mistake. I traded a Rogue with someone who shall remain nameless until I can post proof. Said person claimed the Rogue acct had been closed, in good faith I traded him back his acct. Only to have the rogue recalled a few months later. I had transferred the rogue to a different account but like a blatant idiot I used the exact first name of the previous account. Now when I went to do a recall, guess what, the scammer locked the account the rogue was transferred to and transferred the rogue to a new account.

Blizzard's reasoning and its understandable is to have you fill out a form and submit proof as to that being your account, until that happens the scammer can continue to play freely on the account he transferred the toon to. Irrespective of you having all the info to the account the toon was originally on. So in essence, if you can not prove you are the person whose name appears on the account, the scammer just ended up with a free toon.

Its not really a big deal, its just some S 1 pos belf rogue, what pisses me off is the fact that the person that did this has good rep here. Like I said, until I have enough proof, I wont use names or anything like that. However, I will be submitting the Blizzard form and retrieving it, and after doing that will have the Rogue banned. So enjoy the recall dip [censored], funny how everytime the Rogue was recalled I got some stupid aim from you asking about him. LOL.

Moral of the story is never use the same first name as the owner of the original account when transferring toons to a different account.

Sorry guys had to vent dere.

Because it's lowers the chances of the person recalling it. That's it. Nothing should happen to the account where you would need to provide ID. If it does, it's your fault for trading in a bad way, resulting in the account lock, or, the OO is trying to recall the character.
