Winning an 'unauthorized payment' dispute?

I traded with some guy 10 days ago, and 3 days ago he disputed on paypal, saying 'unauthorized transaction'. The payment was sent as gift and no note was written.
I told them that the trade went well and that he is trying to scam me, that I'm ready to provide any proof etc. and noted that it was for virtual goods.

Is the unauthorized transaction claim any different from the item not as described/not received claim? Do I have less chances of winning?

You have a lot less chance of winning. You need to call back and explain situation again and get an email where to send proof to. and send them hard evidence. If its a credit card charge back you lost already and just dont know it

I'm pretty sure that it's not a charge back, just a dispute. The only evidence that I have is the skype chat log.

Ok, people working in Paypal are retarded.

'Our investigation showed that you did not ship the item to the correct address. The refund to the buyer was issued from your PayPal balance.'...

1. The dispute was about an unauthorized transaction, and not about not receiving the item.
2. What about your shitty policy 'no buyer protection for virtual items'...
3. They did not request any further evidence even though I clearly noted in my message that I am ready to provide any kind of possible evidence.
4. They completely ignored my message.
5. They ignored the fact that I have over 100 received payments from verified members with 0% disputes.

At least it's only $18 so it's not a big deal. But still, I don't want this to happen in the future for some $500+ transaction.
Is it really this easy to scam on Paypal?

Why can't they add the same securith method as Skrill has? Just hide your date of birth and ask for it whenever you wanna send a payment. It would have been so much easier to use it.

I got scammed the same way as the topic starter. Sent as gift, even emailed from the same email that paypal has, and yet claimed unauthorized payment.
