'Watched Forums' page discontinued + Sidebar Update

To simplify things we have decided to discontinue the 'Watched forums' page and integrate the remaining features into the sidebar.

In addition, we have added a new filter option to the 'Active Thread' that allows members to sort their threads by bumps instead of last replies.

Changes

• 'Recently Visited' tab in the sidebar now displays a settings gear icon.
  • Enable "Alert Settings" - allows members to select what types of alerts they want to receive for a given section. (App, push or email)
  • Disable/Enable all email, app or push options so you can turn these options on/off for all forums listed.
  • Limit increased from 35 sections to 40. These are the sections that appear in your 'Recently Visited' tab list.
• 'Active Threads' tab has a new filter option "bumps"
  • Your threads based on the next available bump will display at the top. After your threads, the threads with the newest replies will be listed.
    • Example. ThreadA has a bump available. ThreadB was bumped 20 mins ago. ThreadC was bumped 4 hours ago. It will display in this order
      • ThreadA
      • ThreadC
      • ThreadB

For sections you pinned, but never added to your watch list you will not have all the alert settings available. You can unpin and repin the section to correct this.

I'm sorry, I don't understand your question. I can explain the difference between a forum and thread if you like, but I don't think that's what you're asking about.

Bell alerts for forums were discontinued a year ago. That remains unchanged.

When a section has a new thread posted 2 things occur.

1. A gray counter appears next to the mail icon to indicated how many sections have new activity.



2. Once you open the sidebar, a "NEW" icon will appear next to the sections that have new threads. Clicking "New" will open that section with all the new threads at the top.
