<span style="font-size: 11pt"><span style="color: #FF9900"><span style="font-weight: bold">Hey Markeedragon.com my name is W4rlock I am a former and very successful scammer. I resign from many forum communities where scamming and exploiting is the main idea. Over the last few years I have gained much experience in scamming traders and gained over 5,000 dollars in profit. I come here to markeedragon to make this post to give some of the members knowledge on tactics and strategies many people like me use. Read this guide carefully and hopefully from it you will learn</span>
<span style="color: #FF0000">[How Not To Be Scammed].</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold">
<span style="color: #3366FF">In this guide i will introduce you into scamming, go into direct detail, and teach you how to avoid it. Scamming basically involves two people or more the Prey and the Predator very simple? Yes? Although there are many forms of scamming i will mostly stay in the topic of WoW accounts and items including gold and my favorite scam the Swift Spectal Tiger or Turtle Mount</span></span>

<span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #CC0000">
I.How to detect a scammer and how to make him go away!</span></span></span>

Most of the time scammers are very nervice there are some people out there who have always been able to keep a steady hand and calm voice but most people do not have this ability.

-No time on account
-Seem to not care what gear your toon has or seems in a rush
-Has a way better geared toon and doesnt care you are lesser
-Will not contact you in anyway besides AIM or MSN or EMAIL (Why would he/she care if he/she has no reason for you to get mad at him)

**NOTE** Most excuses for not showing ingame include "I dont have WoW on this computer, or there is no time and im broke!

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="color: #CC0000">II.Forms of trading scammers use to get Information from you, and your account info before you even give it to them!</span></span></span>

One scam that many scammers use is the
-Email Change
-Sqa Exchange(By email for security reasons /wink)

Just from giving them that you say HEY!? I didnt give them my account name or anything that info is nothing to them... RIGHT?!

That is incorrect when you change the email on your account to theirs the scammer will recieve an email in this form

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Hello [Name here],

<span style="color: #3366FF">From you changing the registered email to his/hers they can view your first name, and account name! AMAZING YES? No just common sense..

The Scammer wont want to change his email on their account to yours right? So how can he send you an email just like the one above to you so that you may continue the trade? The answer is very simple many sites were created for this exact reason. They are called Spoof Emailers, I will not list those sites so you scammers reading this cant use them :p All you need to spoof email someone is their email and a form like the email i listed above. You then will get an email like this with their FAKE ACCOUNT NAME! and FAKE NAME! They already have two things from you and you have nothing!

Next is exchanging Secret answers, they will ask "Hey can we do this over emails? Sometimes Aim or Msn cant be very safe"? When you email them from your personal email most of the time you will have your real name registered to that email for example John Smith will appear in his inbox and then they gain two other main facts about you 1.) the Secret answer you emailed him and 2.) Your last name!

The scammer has your
-Account name
-First and last name
-Account attached to his email
-And your secret answer
CONGRATS! TO HIM he can recall your account instantly and leave you lost

You have
-None of his info
-And no account now!

OH but guess what its not over!
Remember that spoof emailer i told you about? Well yeah to keep you from recalling the account from blizzards 1-800 Number the scammer will most likely send you another Spoof email saying you were banned, why would you wanna call blizzard then to hear them yell at you?</span>

Offense: Unapproved Third Party Software
A third party program is any file or program that is not a part of the World of Warcraft software, but is used to gain an advantage in the game, such as increasing your movement speed or teleporting from one place to another beyond what is allowed by game design. It also includes any programs that obtain information from the game that is not normally available to the regular player or that transmit or modify any of the game files. Normally, this classification does not include UI modifications, except those UIs that require an external application to function.

Any external applications that are used in conjunction with World of Warcraft can cause quite a few unwanted side effects. Some of the major possible results of the use of third party programs can be instability of the game to the point that a player "crashes" from the game quite often. External programs can also be used to transmit viruses, spyware, and other unwanted programs into a player's computer. Third party programs can also be used to obtain information from the player's computer, such as account, password, and personal information.

If a player is found to have used such a program, he/she may:

* Be temporarily suspended from the game
* Have further action taken, up to and including account closure, based on the intent of the program

Access to the World of Warcraft account YOUR ACCOUNT, and any World of Warcraft account associated with the payment information you have provided, has been permanently disabled. The account has been identified as having used unauthorized game modifications and thus is in violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. The recurring subscription on the account has been disabled to prevent further charges.

Please review the World of Warcraft Terms of Use at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html, which you accepted when you installed World of Warcraft and established the account(s). Section 2, Paragraph C details the limitations of game play modifications and use of any third-party or “packet sniffing” software. In addition, Section 3, Paragraph C, parts iii and iv restrict the use of any hack, scripting or macroing software which obtains information from World of Warcraft to gain a competitive advantage over other players.

Furthermore, any activities not intended by game design which affect the economy, the client, player characters or the world itself have a tremendous negative impact on the potential enjoyment for all players. The effects of these activities take many forms including a bloated game economy, server instability, and allowing unauthorized access to accounts, computers, and player data.

As a result, the account(s) will no longer be accessible and will not be reopened under any circumstances.

Any disputes or questions concerning this account action can only be addressed by the World of Warcraft Account Administration department. To learn more about how Account Administration is able to assist you, please visit us at http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowaa/.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and respecting our position and all statutes within the World of Warcraft Terms of Use.

So guys this is just a basic scam and the easiest in my opinion! They get very complicated and even more undetectable than this scam.

<span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">Basic Ideas to learn from this</span>

-Always have a phone conversation or Ventrilo In my opinion they shouldnt be nervice
-Use a form of trading that can avoid email change right away</span>

<span style="color: #FF6666"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">III. Item Scams (My favorite the Swift Spectral Tiger)
</span></span></span>
<span style="font-weight: bold">Everyone has seen some of the awesome mounts in WoW Yes? Well the swift spectral tiger is many people's favorites. Many posts are on markee about selling or trading this card. Well to be honest not many of them are legit. There are many ways to make the buyer think you actually have the card.

1.) You really do have it but give them a fake code
2.) You dont have it and copy a picture from google, photoshop it with something custom in it like "HI MARKEEDRAGON" Or "HI (your username)</span>

<span style="color: #FF9966">This picture looks like it was just taken on a desktop in seconds yes?</span>

<span style="color: #FFFF66"><span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">The Backspace Scam</span></span></span>

The backspace scam is more of a WoW exploit where when trading someone something ingame they can put their item in but when they click that trade button the item they were supposed to trade you is put back in their bag. I have done this many times with gold receiving over 20k in my realm. When trading someone an item

-Have them on ventrilo
-Have their phone number
-Make sure they click trade first Backspace has trouble doing this

<span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">IV. Website Phishers</span></span></span>

There are many skilled website coders for HTML PHP etc. WIth those skills they can manipulate many sites and even clone them in their own way. For example the Wrath of the Lich King Beta is out! Many people are trying to get in but some are to late. Scammers knowing this created phishing sites for WoW, this is an example

Looks like the real optin but it just continues to another page where you have to type in your account info and CD keys, and Secret answers etc..

Regular log in page right? NOPE it continues to another page where you verify your account information including Secret Answer, and CD keys.

<span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">V. Positive Reputation People..What about them?</span></span></span>

Ok guys so there is a few things that come to mind when you see a Green Reputation person.

-They are legit
-They are very experienced
-They WONT SCAM ME
laugh.gif

Well sometimes this can be true, but there is another way. Notice how alot of the +rep people have Signatures that are really awesome? Well they either make them on their own or get them from someone else right? Well if they got it from someone else that person probably got a Positive 1, and they didn't trade.... they just used their photoshop skills... they are now known as a good trader and could possibly scam.

THINK THAT OVER WHEN YOU SEE THE Positive REP NEXT TIME!

<span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">VI. TrustWho signatures</span></span></span>

TrustWho is a great invention it shows that this guy is legit right? Most people who are TrustWho put their Link in their signature.

**NOTE** If you can not click on the TrustWho Image and it is actually only an image.. then it is most like just copied and pasted I would not even contact this guy he is a phony

A great way to have someone Verify they are TrustWho is send you an email from their TrustWho email they are registered too.

This section is mostly common sense but I have had many people fall for it on me

I can confirm this post... I was actually scammed by this guy. I always thought the least important thing was username/pw... wrong! I was scammed because i allowed him brief access and went through the motions of the trade. The scammer has so i found one last trump card. the parental controls. If they have never been setup(9 times out of 10 they are not) they can completely lock your account... Since most of us here are using third time accounts and are not the Original owner this makes faxing a copy of the owners license very difficult, again probably impossible. Protect your first and last name! always! Do trades over the phone and make sure the trade is done on your terms. Don't ever feel rushed or pressured because you will get scammed. this poster was a very well kept social engineer(con artist for those who don't know) i felt secure and was baited with a great account. He kept his cool and that's always what i have looked for when trading. He openly agreed to phone convo etc..

I did manage to recall the account but much to my dismay the parental controls were active. After 3+ hours with blizzard i was still no where. He actually ended up giving me access again and left my account untouched. I almost didn't call because of the "third party email" i got from blizzard, which was spoofed. Read the above.

<span style="font-size: 14pt">I Recommend this post is sticked!</span></span>

Are you the OO of this post and is transfer up?

Also, I make signs for rep!

thats why im from massachusetts and hes from Colorado, and yes i came to the legit side, oh and i didnt expect to be insulted for this guide god ><

Its cool that you're helping people out now w4rlock, but you gotta understand why some people are mad that you are an ex-scammer. A lot of people have gotten screwed over on this website simply because they really didn't understand how the trading process SHOULD work. And if they're an OO with no trading experience then they really don't stand a chance of knowing unless they're super cautious.

Thank you for giving this guide out, but I don't respect you since you scammed over 5,000 out of people.

W4rlock is the same guy that made those "new private server threads". I think it was the Beginning of Warcraft or something. He spam bumped a couple threads about his private server, not sure the status of his other accounts.

And just to justify the negative I gave him...

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">W4rlock MD (2:16:12 AM): Ill give you a piece of advice don't rat people out in life it always gets back at you, and if you grew up in my town you'd already be 6 feet under </div></div>

I can tell hes changed a whole lot...
