https://www.epicnpc.com/members/498459-TheGuru was recently banned here due to a scam dispute against him on ownedcore. He claims that all the evidence is fake, but he was still banned and the admins didn't really care much to do a detailed investigation.
I did the investigation myself and found that the proof is in fact fake.
Here's the thread on OC: http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/mmo...guru-skype-el-le33-scammed-me-1200euro-4.html
The guy accused TheGuru of a 1200€ WoW account scam. At the end of the post, a video of the chat and the Skrill transaction has been posted.
From the video, we can't really know if the chat is fake, but we can see that the Skrill transaction at the end of the video was clearly edited using inspect element.
Here is the screenshot from his video: http://s6.postimg.org/we8hwfho1/fake_ss.png
I've downloaded the video just in case he deletes it in the meantime.
I've just done a test transaction on Skrill, here's how it looks: http://s6.postimg.org/ty6oikzld/asdasd.png , so that you can compare. You can test it yourself and compare.
1. The "Description" field on Skrill always shows the name of the recipient, and not the actual description of the transaction, despite the label saying "Description". The accuser failed here and wrote "For WoW account" instead of the name of the recipient. You can't write a description on Skrill that will show here. You can write a message, but that message will only show in the email, and not here.
2. The "Amount" field always displays the amount in the currency of your Skrill account. A currency conversion has been done here from USD to EUR. If that's true, then the amount field should display the amount converted to USD (so around ~1385), but yet in his SS it displays the value in EUR.
3. The fee is always 1% of the amount, which would make it exactly 12.6 , but in his case it's 22.3, which is around 1.77%, which makes no sense.
4. EUR to USD today is 1 EUR = 1.156254 USD. On Sep 13 when his fake transaction was made, it was higher, over 1.2, but his screenshots shows MUCH less. http://s6.postimg.org/a4ukpvm7l/eurusd.png
5. A Skrill account with that email doesn't seem to exist (look second post).
[HIDE=99999]The accuser has not posted a skype name, so I couldn't ask TheGuru for proof of chat (as he claims that he never talked with this person). The accuser also seems to be banned from epicnpc for scamming and using VPN (unconfirmed info from the TheGuru).
The moderator on OC hasn't done any proper investigation and simply accepted the video as proof, called the accused a retard and banned him.
They didn't ask for the accuser to prove anything with screen share/teamviewer, nor did they ask the accused to post his part of the chat with the accuser, who hasn't even left his skype name anywhere in the thread. This is very different on how me or anyone here would resolve a dispute on Epic, and we shouldn't honor this kind of ban, especially since he's an upgraded member with 20 feedback here.[/HIDE]
