Hello there,

I've been looking on site for scam reports/disputes ( since i've access there ), and i have come forward an idea.

Lets be serious, People are scamming today 24 hours. And your disputes, banning them, actually does nothing.

People are making fake emails, 10 minutes emails and stuff like that. Announcing their profile info ( which is in 90% fake ) , won't eliminate scammers.

There should be some rules when people are selling. For example, they need to activate PHONE or put some REAL information including their Name Surname and some other IMPORTANT info.

By revealing their real life informations, for example phone or stuff like that, we could be scammer free for atleast 50%.

i've personaly seen guys who makes 2-3 fake accounts with fake info and scamming people here. Neitherless, i can't believe that an epic verified members here go first to a RANDOM guy, who posts fake information or gives fake profile links.

Typical example.

http://www.epicnpc.com/threads/790456-65-Falchion-l-Slaughter--Karambit-l-Scorchedm4-Hyper-beast And he got feedback like trust worthy.

Make an rule. FEEDBACK rating can begiven ONLY and ONLY by epic verified+. He also tried to scam me ( or his impersonating profile ), i put there screenshot.

I know that u handle scams and reports really quick and hard, but protect members first, sellers. Make more middlemans, put an important rule that MM is recommended for ANY transcation.

Well we are always open for suggestions. we do have safe guards in place for return scammers and fake feedback they are not perfect.

A middleman is always suggested for no feedback transactions, but a lot of those transactions happen with fake middlemen. This is something we cannot control because people do not do their research.

"By revealing their real life informations," Cannot do this due to privacy laws and the shear fact if john smith scams someone then it could be every john smith in the eyes of the internet. Epicnpc verification weeds out the scammers but its not perfect as some people do not care if their ids are submitted. We cannot pursue people and most buyers/sellers cannot either due to international law or physical distance. Most scammers would or already use fake information when forced to as it is.

Phone verification isn't free. It costs us a few hundred dollars per month for members that upgrade. The upgrade fees cover the phone costs and make some profit of us. If we required phone verification for all, this would cost us a few thousand dollars per month which would be far too expensive for a free site like ours. This would require us to add a fee, which would change our site from free to paid and not something I'm willing to do.

By revealing their real life informations, for example phone or stuff like that, we could be scammer free for atleast 50%.
Verifying info is a time consuming process. I manually review every new upgraded account daily, however if we required info from everyone it would be hundreds of accounts per day. There's no way we could possibly review this many accounts. We have a 100% volunteer staff, to make this a reality I would have to hire dedicated staff to review all accounts. This would be another huge cost increase.

While these suggestions would make the site safer, they would end up bankrupting the site as both involved HUGE cost increases.

I checked his account yesterday when you reported him and couldn't find anything. If you have proof he's a scammer, please create a thread in the Active Dispute forum.

Best thing a person can do is just google their skype name or what ever info they usually give you. Something will always come up if they have scammed in the past. Most of the time personally I seen a lot of people not doing their research before making the transactions which costs them.

Shouldn't a site protect the unknowing? In place of saying i see alot of people not douing research. I have had scam attempts against me by pro sellers. The diffrence however is that a pro seller looses income a pro scammer however makes a new alias uses a diffrent proxy and he is back under a diffrent name - email - skype - ... .

There is NO 100% protection unless you ask people to connect to a site using there eid (electronic identity card) but because of privacy you can't ask people to use it. However there is a loophole in international law. You can have a private section on a forum where people decide to connect to by using the card. If you so desire to (not force them to).

And for this only minor adjustments need to be made. Wil cost some money but wil be a one time investment. And wil up security in that part of the forum by a bazzilion fold.

Costs who is going to pay?

And take my comments as constructive criticism.

As one of the people that give the most lack of verification infractions or notifications, raising verification or membership prices will not help. Backlash from having to pay a dime is amazing. Most get combative. But tell them they can use their free sites where scamming is far worse.

They do not see how well it works. You can look at clash of clans return scammers dropped insanely, minecraft stolen accounts dropped insanely, beta scams too, you see very few powerleveling and boosting scams, it of course happens still but far less.

Constantly getting backlash still when it comes to csgo boosting and other things. People want free and do what ever they please. Thats why on other forums you see far more return scammers. I get back lash from banning returning scammers too. Get people adding me complaining their ban was unfair bexause they did not scam on this account specifically. The problem is most return scammers are professionals and know how to beat the system

i see alot of forums with a dead mod team as well or a few corrupt.

There's very few countries issue electronic identity cards. You're talking about a very small group of people on this site that would be included in that group.

People who want to use it will gladly pay a small fee to be better protected and or sell more.

And the rest of your explenation made no sense to me. Might be language specific syntaxes i did not understand. I guess you say that repeated banning of these people wil make them sick of returning and try elswhere. If that is your case i say keep it gouing but isn't it better to prevent then to heal? If scammers don't try because of a set system ... you don't have scammers.

I know it is easyer set then done but brainstorming to find small solutions to keep them away seems better then douing nothing. (Not saying you guys are douing nothing, i see a definite improvement then years back).

We will be launching two new systems later this year to help make transactions safer on the site. One will be launching very soon, by the end of June. The other in July or August. More info about both will be posted in a week or so.
