Okay everyone, the following happened within the past three days:
I posted a Tauren Druid for sale on this website. After numerous attempts, I lowered the price to $199. The druid had 4/5 S3, all Vindicator, epic flying etc. I was the 2nd Owner as mentioned in the post.
I am not a reseller. I owned two WoW accounts, began to get rid of them.
After about a day, no one replied to my $199 post probably because A. that price is really good and B. sounded too good to be true, so thus a scammer right? wrong, I'm real.
So, I finally get an AIM msg from someone.
After a short conversation, I show him in-game my druid and I give him my number.
He calls me. It's a restricted number. I answer anyways and continue talking. Real smooth guy, sort of a scratchy voice. I tell him to give me the phone number over AIM. Well, it's late at night and I want this to be over with. I do not hang up and re-dial to verify.
Instead, he continues with transaction. He asks me for my name, city, and bank. He says he can wire the money to my bank. And I Actually believed him....
So, I give him all the info and poof, three days later no transactions in my bank account.
Well, I say [censored] it and I got scammed--game over.
I do some digging and find a way to re-call the account. I call the 800 number, but the guy already called and had a time transfer to boot on the accounnt.
So, now I have to mail in or fax a photo ID of the OO to verify I am who I say I am. So, I call the OO (real cool dude) and ask him to please give me a photo ID. He agrees.
NOT 10 MINUTES LATER, HE CALLS ME BACK SAYING SOMEONE JUST CALLED HIM ASKING FOR A PHOTO ID FOR THE ACCOUNT HE SOLD. THE F*UCKING SCAMMER TRIED ACTING LIKE ME. HE GOT THE NUMBER CAUSE I KEPT MOST OF THE INFO THE SAME ON THE ACCOUNT TRANSFER. THE GUY I BOUGHT THE ACCOUNT FROM THOUGHT HE WAS SKETCHY.
GUESS WHAT!?? THE OO SAID THE NUMBER showed up on his cell phone, not restricted.
YOU KNOW WHAT'S EVEN BETTER??? It's traceable. I did a reverse look-up on it and it shows the same city the scammer posted from on the FORUM.
HAHA, WHAT A DBAG.
SO now that I have his number + land line location, WHAT CAN I DO TO HIM!? CALL HIS MOMMY!? IDEAS PLEASE
/discuss
