Was Trade Guardian used? Yes
If yes, what is the Trade Guardian ID? #29785
What is the dispute about?
1. I purchased an Identity V account from Gkdev on 19 November 2020.
2. I used TG and a MM.
The transaction went smoothly and account was secured and confirmed for the moment. (It should be noted that at the time of purchase, the user claimed the DMM account linked to this IDV account was deleted and that it was simply unable to be unlinked from the game, which the MM confirmed. The seller then promised that if someone else were able to access the DMM account he would refund me in full. Well, I posit that selling me an unsecure account on the pretense that it was secure and that the MM isn’t able to secure it now are grounds enough for a full refund, even if they didn’t need to use the DMM account to access the game.)
3. I logged on and played for a bit. Several hours later, when I attempted to log into the account again, I was prompted to make a new game. The account info had either been lost or unbound.
I reported this to the TG chat once I noticed and prepared steps and information from the seller to give to support in case it was an issue of account loss.
I made a new account to use the in-game support (per the IDV forum moderator’s instructions). Support from the game had replied to me on 20 November 2020 saying the account was bound at the time only to the DMM account (though now it seems it’s been bound to more than the DMM account from the MM’s check).
4. On 20 November 2020, MM useeds attempted to access the account, to check if he was still able to log in, and found a completely different bind on it.
In attempting to secure the account again, the MM found that whoever was currently on the account kept unlinking his dummy Twitters that he was using to try and resecure the account. The MM cannot resecure the account, though it was never secure in the first place as there was a third method of log-in that the seller failed to disclose that compromised the entirety of the account.
The seller claims he had no idea who was doing this. I don’t really care if he knew or didn’t, he is responsible for the account he sells and if there was another method of logging in that compromised the account, the fault is on his head.
5. I would like a full refund. Of course, as a potential scammer, he is unwilling to do so.
There is circumstantial evidence of this binding and unbinding fight that is only happening after I’ve purchased the account and after the MM is attempting to secure it again. This indicates whoever is doing this is aware there was a purchase and attempts to resecure the account and is intentionally subverting these attempts. Regardless, the seller’s assertions are not credible and cannot be taken at face value.
His argument that his refund agreement only applies if someone was able to access the DMM link account holds no water when the entirety of the account he sold was compromised from the beginning and remains compromised now.
Other details / notes: All conversations were kept within the TG chat on EpicNPC. Screenshots attached below, but should also be more readily readable to mods through the logs.
