Last night I got scammed by an impostor of a known FFXI Gil buyer here in epicnpc.
I was careful, but it wasn't enough. I did contacted the buyer directly here in epicnpc, used the chat app, told him to forward a certain passcode in our skype conversation, he was able to forward the passcode, so I concluded that he was the real one. Traded the gil and waited for the payment, but alas! no payment arrived, waited for few more hours but still no payment. So then, I tried contacting again the buyers skype but he's already offline, did a little more research and found out that the one I was talking to in skype could be an impostor, so I tried to contact the other means of contact of the real buyer, but unfortunately he was offline, waited for hours and at last he went online. Apparently, the impostor was also talking to him last night in skype, I guess that is how the impostor got my passcode and forwarded to our skype conversation, it was amazing really if you think about it. It happened very fast.
Now, I don't know why, but the legit buyer won't even talk to me, he refuse to give the skype name of the scammer, refused to tell me how did the scam happened.
Oh well, I guess I'll be really careful next time, and no more first time selling to someone.
