If the user has feedback, check it. It could reassure your doubts you may have. But, absolutely do not let your guard down.
If paying with PayPal, always use “Goods and Services” to send money, which gives you seller protection in case of a potential scam.
And, this one is common sense, always confirm you’ve received the money before releasing the goods. If they insist on going first but you know what you’re selling isn’t something you want to risk losing from a scam, then always go first. If the buyer is serious about the transaction, this shouldn’t be a problem.
But, keep in mind, you both are strangers, you’re online. So, it’s understandable if you guys don’t trust each other. Maybe you want to go first, maybe he wants to go first. You both can have the intentions of scamming each other. So. It’s best to take a smart approach instead of trying to get quick cash and end up getting scammed and losing your account, let’s say, worth $100.
