recalling my account after 5-6 months???

So pretty much I had an account that i made for my brother. He used to play the game religiously. I tried to log on to the account cause he gave up on it a long time ago. Well i couldn't freaking log in. used sq ans and everything. NO EMAIL!!@#!@#

Eventually i got it out of him that he followed a link in his email that "appeared" to be from blizzard.""A LONG TIME AGO" according to him. I don't know if they left his email alone or they deleted the message that was sent from blizzard for the email change of the conformation link but he said that he saw nothing.

So basically he was key logged and freaking blindsided. we where hacked without knowing it.

I know blizzard is usually good with customer support. But do you think they will have a problem with restoring a account that was taken anywhere from 3-6 months ago??? Like i said we where blindsided they only logged into the email to delete the email conformation link so nothing was seen and everyone thought all was well.

I have the Name, Sq/ans, adress,telephone, and even the Credit card info that was used on it.

What do you guys think?

No, blizzard wont have a problem doing that. Although they might ask for a form of ID scan ( drivers license or passport ) to verify your the owner aswell as all the other original information.

If they haven't merged the account, just call in and ask for an e-mail change, then bam once it done reset the password.

The account you will get back no problem, whatever they did on the toon trough might be harder to restore. It is very doubtful GM will restore any gear dating from 6 months ago.

NO! It's not keylogging when he willfully gives away his info in a [censored] web form, what a moron.

Doing that is as intelligent as going on these forums and just making a thread with your account info in it.

Blizzard makes it very clear, even during logon, that "Blizzard will never ask for your account information."

Unfortunately there's no antivirus good enough to protect against "stupidity".

Call blizzard to get it restored, they'll do it. I think anything below level 10 cannot be restored though, something about database backups only happening for characters above that level.

Also, make sure you educate him about this, before he gets his own VISA card and follows the "email I got from visa that asked me to confirm my credit card details" and loses something <span style="font-style: italic">really</span> valuable.
