Quick question about the way stickied threads work. I was under the impression that you could outbid a thread before the expiration date, but your thread wouldnt be stickied until the expiration date is up, is this not how it works? Would I have to wait until the expiration date to pay to outbid the thread?

If a thread is not immune, you can outbid it at any time. Once the thread expires, it will be removed and your thread will start.

How does immunity work? If a thread is immune, will my thread still be stickied on the expiration date? or will I just be able to outbid on the expiration date?

If you outbid someone else then you're sticky is immune the first 30 days so no one will be able to outbid you under this period.

I believe it will continue to be sticky until someone else is able to outbid you.

If someone has immunity, you can't outbid them. This means they have a chance to renew.

Immunity can only be obtained one of two way.

1) Buy a 3 or 6 month immunity plan
2) Outbid someone. Once your thread is sticked, it will be immune for the first month.

Thanks. So if I was to outbid on the expiration date, would my thread also get stickied that same day? or would a second expiration date show up.

If you outbid someone the same day their thread expires, I can't guarantee when your thread would start.

The sticky thread time doesn't always match up to the Paypal payments. Paypal subscription payments don't always rebill at the same time each month.

For example a sticky thread might say it expires "March 21, 3:32pm EST", but the Paypal payment might have already rebilled a few hrs before that. In this case your start time would be April 21st.

If you outbid before the Paypal payment, then your start time would be March 21st, so it depends on the payment.

To avoid this, I would recommend outbidding someone before the last day. This will guarantee you get their spot on the expiration date.

Got it, but if their thread has immunity, it wouldn't be possible to outbid before the last day, correct?

Yes, if they have immunity, you won't be able to outbid them until the expiration date updates. If they renewed, it will update to the next month and you can then outbid them. If they didn't renew, it will be removed and you can just buy the spot.

Awesome, thanks for the help.
