Hey everyone who is nervous about having their accounts scammed, or have maybe had there WoW account scammed as i previously have. I would like to share with everyone how i have retrieved my account back from the scammer, with absolutly no problems with the account!

<span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">Requirements </span></span>

1) If you are the OO of the account this will be a breeze!
2) You know the original owner and he is willing to help.
3) You do not know the original owner but do know his first and last name.
<span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">
Information needed</span></span>

1) Secret Question answer is the key to this of course, i know obvious right? this guide is for people who may not.
2) if you are not the original owner make sure you are the gender as them and if you are male, this only works if you have hit puberty
wink.gif

3) Original Account name and or email adress
4) .... if im missing something its because its a little late and hard to think :P ill update when im rested haha

Process...

Of course its gonna be to give Blizz a Ring! this is the US number only (1-800-592-5499) its open to calls from 8am - 8pm <span style="text-decoration: underline">PST</span>, next comes the part where if you are the Original Owner its a breeze and if you are not there will be the need for some acting

. K if you are not OO when they pick up your call you will become the OO if you know what i mean! ive called the blizz support over 5 times and each time the questions were a little different but were still similar, they will first ask you for either your NAME, or Email, make sure you are giving the email that the account WAS under before it was hacked and the Original Owners name! Also be ready to present your phone number, not a big deal. then they should ask the nature of the call! what you will tell them is that you recieved an email that claimed to be from Blizzard entertainment, also known as a Key Logger email and that it said your account was under suspicion... so on. So you followed steps because you believed it was from blizzard ;), any ways short story is that you were Keylogged and no longer have access to your WoW account lol. Then they will talk with you for a little bit and eventually ask the Secret question, and if you provide the correct answer this should be a done deal also dont be affraid to give a couple answers lol, i made my account along time ago and said that im a little rusty, so i had to give them a FEW answers before i remembered the correct one, this was not a problem for them. Any how at this point they will reset all the original account information as it was when the account was created, they will also allow you to change your Secret question and answer to assure that the scammer is unable to recieve the account again.... If this doesnt make sense AIM me at "IrishFB94" and i will be happy to help you out!

Experince was over well positive with Blizzards support system!

In my honest opinion, the fact of the matter is, if you are scammed, you should be filing a police report and a dispute with logs that you should have saved throughout the transaction. You should also have some form of contact with the person who scammed you, ideally a landline number.

Misrepresentation of oneself to recover an account is truly deceptive and I have a strong feeling that this may have a positive side for those who have been scammed, but also a negative side for those who are looking out to scam. This idea just gives more reason to misrepresent someone over the internet/phone and, in doing so, one person gains - the other loses. If you are scammed from purchasing an account, file a charge back. If you trade and are scammed, do a recall. In the end a valid ID trumps the SQA.

By "acting" as someone else to "take back the account" you are basically mailing in a fake ID for blizzard to hand an account to you. Whether or not the physical property of the fraud is there, you are committing a deceptive form of identity fraud.

MAiling in a form of ID was not needed in this case, and if would have been needed i wouldnt have sent a fake one i would have kindly asked my friend to...

Oh WoW haha well it was my mistake to forget to mention in the tutorial... After you have recieved account back quickly Merge the account with Battlenet "This will allow you to set a new Secret Question" Sorry about the confusion. (:

Battle.net accounts are totally different from WoW accounts. Just because their linked doesn't mean the SQA to the battle.net becomes effective over the original WoW account. How do you think people can unmerge unauthorized linking? If the actual SQA had been changed, they would have lost it for good.

Banned - scammer - multiple accounts

You can get your SQ/A changed if you fax your ID to blizz.
