Please give some stronger moderation to the Hypixel Skyblock Accounts Section

I completely understand that Hypixel Skyblock accounts are high risk but the issue isn't just that alone the number of blatant scammers on the page without their posts and whatnot getting removed leaves a lot to be desired. If any staff just gives some of these users a look there are so many accounts there where it's blatant that either the user does not own the account, or isn't willing to use a middleman (on top of the lack of availability of middlemen for that section), there's a lack of action in which users have alerted people to scammers and nothing is done about it which encourages it to continue.

I don't know if this is the section to post this but I feel enough as a reliable buyer that this section of the forums is so high risk I don't understand why the section exists. You're 90% likely to get scammed because people are posting high-value accounts without any real reputation and people are forced to take the chance with discord proof and on-site screenshots rather than use the site's middleman system because it takes so long to get someone to bite. With the addition of the Microsoft migration, it should be far more reliable to secure accounts now since the access is native to that now. With how this site works, the buyer themselves is at far more risk because we have to put the money forward and the seller risks nothing and can continue to run off with scamming. Please do something about this even if its just some clean up for threads.

Using a middleman is optional. And although I agree that refusing to use a middleman is a red flag, we cannot punish members for it or automatically assume that they're a scammer. Same goes for taking trades off-site. We strongly recommend that members do all communication on-site and use a middleman if possible, but that also doesn't make it a requirement. Members are free to take trades off-site if they wish. It's the buyer's own responsibility to be aware that this is risky and that they should avoid it.

In case of hypixel, even when a middleman is used, it's still risky. Rate of recall is very high and sellers try all sorts of tricks to regain access to accounts or items on it after the trade. There are a few exploits that could be abused which are hard to counter. It's bad to the point where MMs have started avoiding hypixel trades and people don't get a MM for hours even after paying the MM fee. There's even a disclaimer when you create a TG transaction that not all MMs accept hypixel trades.

Unfortunately, there is not much that could be done about it. We cannot assume members are scammers based on the fact that they refuse MMs or want to trade off-site. Requiring verification is an option, but that would deter many legit sellers in addition to reducing scams.
As a buyer, you should either look for reputable members, insist on using a MM and be aware that even if a trade completes, it's still risky.

Even if I insist on using a middleman and pay for one that doesn't even guarantee me a middleman. My issue is even as a buyer if we go to that section there's almost nearly no guarantee we can be protected as a buyer using the proper channels. I've tried my hardest to get a reliable deal in that section and its become to a point where I don't feel confident in making a purchase from that section because there's no protection against what could be considered scams there. However not using a middleman isnt the only issue, there's several users who have evaded being caught as scammers by making alternative accounts and giving each other reputations. This on top of the several amount of users reviewing negative and their posts not being investigated. It's obviously not recommended to use discord but if a user reports a scam through discord trade is there any intent to handle it? I just wanted to express this because overall I can find many subsections of this website reliable and usually have good traders in those sections. This section of the forums is just unregulated chaos and I don't want other users to risk losing money over this.

1. We decide on which discord trades we want to handle depending if its a high repped user or not. Users aren’t likely going to impersonate a new account or non repped user. As a buyer you should still request that they prove they are who they say they are by messaging on-site. Make sure you ask if the discord ID that you are talking to is theirs on-site. If you can confirm their identity on-site by using the above method. Then it will always be investigated as there is proof that they are who you are talking to.

2. Mods are volunteers, we can’t force them to moderate sections that they aren’t familiar with. In the case you suspect someone of scamming then report them. We do investigate the user to see if they are ban evading or feedback abusing. Either of those on new accounts are offences that will end with permanent bans.

The only way to somewhat handle this is by forcing members to have a specific upgrade. However, this is not that good of a fix as the scammers will just buy the upgrade then scam with a high priced account and then be able to make a new account and repeat. As this has happened in the GTA V section as it was also very high risk.

If you see people you suspect that are ban evading or feedback abusing make sure to report them. Those reports come to Global Mods and Admins. We will check everything possible, and when we find them ban evading or feedback abusing they will be banned.
