I just got scammed by someone on here for an account.
And i need to file a dispute through paypal and i was wondering what is the best way to open the dispute so i have a better chance of getting my money back.

Unauthorized or Not Delivered? or other

Well since it was virtual goods they cant tell if you got the item or not so if you open up a case saying you never got your items he would need to provide the tracking number etc. Since he cant do it cause it was a virtual item he will lose and you will get your money. Paypal does not like virtual or intangible goods being sold through them, so if he does say it was a ffxi or w/e account most likely he will lose, his account will go into negative and they might limit his account.

Or you can also say you didn't know anything about this transaction and that someone might have hacked your PW or w/e. Once again they will ask him for a tracking number to prove he sent the item and since he doesn't have one he will lose.

Either way works fine, pick your poison.

Not sure if I heard anything farther from the truth in my life.

How did you pay for it? Also if you are going to file a disbute. Post up who you are filing agenst so that others know not to work with that person.

If you paided with a CC or Bank... don't go through paypal. Call your CC or Bank and file disbute there as paypal has no control over them and you will get your money back 100% of the time.

The only issue is if playpal finds in the sellers favor your paypal account will be locked and they will send collections after you. But if paypal finds in your favor then you are fine and the person in question will have the money taken away.

Like the poster said above go through your CC company / bank. I did the whole dispute thing through paypal and lost because of "intangible goods" so they told me to try my credit card company and because it's "intangible goods" paypal won't do anything because the seller is not covered.

How is that not the truth? From my own personal experience and the research that i have done if you deal with intangible goods in most cases you're gonna lose. Well at least through paypal anyways.

I recently sold my Hearld's gaiters to a guy who later reversed the payment, said he never got them. Paypal asked me for a tracking number and i told them i didn't have one cause it was a virtual item and that i could provide the MSN chat logs or w/e they needed but i still lost. After all is said and done my account is in the negative for over $1,000. It hasn't been closed or anything, just whenever i put money into it it would go towards the negative amount.

I guess the best thing to do is what the posters above said.

Ok well since this actually happened to me the other night from a seller perspective and I actually won. I sold an account and exactly a week later the guy said he didnt get it. He filed through paypal and they froze my account. When I called to paypal needless to say I was very hot b/c this scammer had my account and his money back. After talking with them and explaning the situation. They found in my favor and gave my money back. They said since it was virtual goods that the buyer and seller would have to work together to resolve the issue. I dont know if that helped at all. I am just releaved a scammer didnt win this time. But being a buyer also, more times then not.....paypal is for the buyer hands down.
