With the new cleaner redesign of the thread page, we have removed a lot of the clutter allowing us to increase the maximum number of threads that we display per page.
https://www.epicnpc.com/threads/new-thread-listing-design.2456534/

We will now display 50 threads per page instead of 32.

Due to this thread count increase, we are also going to increase our page 1 maximum thread limit.

High activity sections = 10 threads (up from 4)
Medium activity = 20 threads (up from 6)
Low activity = 30 threads (up from 12)

The increase to these limits are very large because we're intentionally loosening this restriction. We want sellers to be able to post each item for sale separately and the previous limits restricted that too much. However we still don't want large sellers completely flooding a section, so we're placing high limit. These limits might be adjusted lower over the next few days or weeks depending how things go.

Redesign looks great, but 10 threads for one page is too much. People are going to abuse it and literaly spam a lot of threads to just remain on the first page. Please make the limit at most 6. Sellers like me, who have 30+ accounts are trying to keep them in 2-3 separate threads sorting by criteria like "starter/endgame" or by different type of selling items/heroes/resources. But now such threads will be just spamed out of the first page in 10-15 minutes and with biger ammount of spam-threads it will be harder for buyers to find specific account they are looking for.

There's a total of 50 threads that will now display on page #1 instead of 32, so that's a 64% increase. Going from 4 to 6 would only be a 50% increase so it would actually be more restrictive than before if we only increased to 6.

As stated we want to be less restriction and give sellers the ability to create a unique post for each account they're selling if they want to. I felt the previous limits were too restrictive to allow sellers to do this, so I'd like to give this a try. If we see wide spread abuse, we can lower the limits. If not, then we can keep these settings.

This feels bad, because if there is no space for a sticky thread and I like to keep all my prices in one thread (this is convenient for buyers), then I will wait 6 hours to bump the thread, and after that another seller will immediately bump 10 threads and mine thread will be at the bottom. I will also have to create topics to be in the public eye and there will be even more flooding. Maybe then you can add the number of sticky threads?

I love to bump threads for credits, but it also looks unprofitable. I can show a screenshot of what 10 threads from one user looks like, it's terrible. In addition, buyers do not like to search for a long time and usually choose the first thread they like.

I am writing this because I recently experienced a multi-bump problem and was terrified

I’ll have to agree that I think this will mostly lead to flooding. There may be more visible on the first page, but there’s still more you have to search through. If a user ends up listing 10 things I’m not interested in instead of 4, I now have to scroll past 10 posts rather than 4. And as was mentioned before, boosting your threads just to have another user boost 10 of theirs will just lead to your threads not being seen at all anymore. It’s fine to increase the number, but I think 10 is overkill.

Without having sticky thread or constantly sitting at your pc and buying " bump now", you wont have any exposure. 4 users that registered account today will each post 10 threads and flood entire first page.

So if i want to sell 10 accounts, i can do by making 10 copy / paste threads and just changing class/price in these? What with spam warnings, how u can determine that something is spam if the seller wants to sell 10 accounts with the same thread design just change minor details inside?

The seller should not simply change the class and price. That's not helpful to a buyer.

If the account is listed, there's should be some information and hopefully screenshots of the account showing stats, gear, inventory, things of that nature, so a potential customer can see the important account information without having to contact the seller.

If a seller simply lists 1 piece of info and nothing else, that seller should make 1 thread and use it as a store.

Hunter account = $25
Mage account = $50
Elf account = $45

if we start to see these types of spammy threads, we'll start issuing spam warning and if we have to, we'll update the thread guidelines rules to prevent this type of abuse.

I understand it's a big increase to the limits, but we've had low limits for so long I would like to see how this affects the site. We can lower the limits if we see problems, but if there's nothing major, I'd like to run at these settings for at least a few weeks, then we can access again.

It will look like this, the same threads with different build names. The Threads inside differs only in the video guide from youtube. These characters do not exist, they will be lvled within a day after purchase. I did this screenshot before the update, but there might be even more threads now haha

For example its my d2r and wow wotlk prices. I have the same things with build links and prices. But I would not be very happy if my concise threads was interrupted by users with 10 similar threads

I reported this user the day before your update, and the another administrator told me that everything according to the rules. But this guy has has minimal differences in threads (class name and random video from youtube)

Yes, I understand that most likely people will not do this, because they are not arrogant, but I came across this, so I am writing about it.

That section is not active. There are threads from 2 months ago still on page #1 so there's not many sellers in that section. If a seller wants to make a separate thread for each character type, as long as each thread is unique, we're going to allow that for now.

I appreciate the reports because we want to see how sellers are using the increased limits. We'll review all reports and monitor ourselves as well in case we need to adjust the settings to a lower amount.
