That will created an Epicnpc icon on your iOS device. Click that to launch the site and login. You should get a popup notification box stating,
Epicnpc would like to send you notifications
Select 'Allow'.

You can also go to the settings page to enable Push notifications in case you already clicked 'Don't Allow'.

You will now receive notifications depending on the settings you selected :)

I found a first issue Mike. Whenever you try to open a chat or thread, the chat bar does not pop up.

What do you mean "chat bar"? Do you mean the top navigation bar?
Whenever I go through the app it does not appear a keyboard option to write something. I tried on post even in direct messages. It does not appear.

Very nice feature! Much needed.

@EpicNPC @IvanDev Any idea why the notifications tend to stop working after a while? They’ll work fine until maybe a few weeks/months pass & I essentially have to delete the entire thing & add it back to my home screen again.

I would check your App list in the IOS settings to make sure "notifications" are still enabled. Maybe Apple disables them after some time.
The issue is within IOS software updates. You will need to redo all steps @Descream4 is saying. Long story short, this doesnt seem as an issue of application of epicnpc rather then IOS itself

I see, makes sense. Hopefully they fix that issue then.
You should grasp the better purpose of EpicNPC app. it's not an application but rather a browser icon provided by iOS (Apple) for accessing web forums. To the best of my knowledge (which may be incorrect), the official app should be developed and distributed by EpicNPC through the Apple Store. All updates and features would then be managed by EpicNPC, making any issues related to the platform itself.

it's similar to opening the site on safari but with a dedicated app icon. the main purpose was to give iOS users push notifications

correct, iOS auto software updates can sometimes break the notification permissions so you would just have to re-add it to your home screen until they fix it

It also happens when the phone runs out of battery, you have to activate them again.
