I'm new to the site and understand not upgrading restricts my account but does that also mean I'm unable to upload screenshots too?

Do I just need to add IMG tags?

you are restricted to 3 images due to number of posts. you need more posts to post more images.

You can post up to 5 images/URLs without upgrading. This counts all links, not just images.
