New Instant Messaging system added

I'm sure you all have noticed in the bottom right of the screen is a new "Chat Now" box. This will allow all registered members to contact each other directly to IM on-site.

Members can also create chat rooms for those of you using a Middleman and need to 3-way chat. Currently public chat rooms are allowed, but that will soon be removed and 'invite only' chat rooms will be the only option, so that MM chat will be more secure.

The hope with the new IM system is to keep all communications on EpicNPC so members don't fall victim to scammers on Skype and email trying to impersonate our members and site. Contacting members on EpicNPC is now easier then ever so there should be no reason not to anymore.

is it possible to make only "Protected" members able to use the IM system, that way we can also rule out "my epic got hacked" claims

That would extremely limit the IM system since only a few hundred members have added the authenticator. 99% of members wouldn't be able to use it.

Oh i thought my skype had new option as i saw on bottom an icon for online users with chat options. Until i read its EpicNPC's new update

Yes, all chats are recorded and logged, however I still recommend using the "save conversation" option anytime you complete a sale via the new IM system so you have the logs for yourself. It'll also be easier if you ever have to open a dispute thread if you have the log recorded.

I do like the new chat but already had a member send a blind invite to a group

Should make it so it warns people of a ban if this happens allot.

And also someone made a trade channel yesterday, everyone was well behaved and no spam
But noticed people are using it to bypass rules on id verifcation

'Chat Now' button is now available in the profile area making it one step easier to contact someone to start chatting.

We are working on making it only visible when someone is online. Currently it shows up for everyone even offline users. However once you click it the chat window will show the users status and if they're offline as well as the offline/online icon next to the username.

No banned members can't use chat, I banned him after he spammed.

If you have many tabs open, like 10 or more, the chat sound will play once for each tab at the same time, making it very loud. Sometimes it scares me when the volume is up.

There's no way for the program to know that you have more than one tab open, that would require an update in the browser not chat since each browser works differently. Sorry, nothing I can really do about that.
