Greetings everyone,

Today we have released a new set of rules for the MMOBay forums. Not to worry as not much has changed in terms of rule changes however some changes are significant enough that you should understand how they work. Effective immediately we have changed to a point value infraction system. Each rule violation has been given a point value that will be awarded to your account. Please take a moment to review each rule and the point value assigned to it if you were to break that rule. They are located at the very top of each forum. Keep in mind that just because you break a rule doesn't mean you will receive an infraction every time. You may instead receive only a warning. When you receive a warning no infraction points are given. A list of infractions that you have received can be viewed from your settings page, and are only viewable between you and the forum staff.

Infraction Point System:

  • When you break a rule an infraction will be given to your account.
  • Any member who is given 5 infraction points during a 30 day period will receive a 7 day ban from the forums.
  • Any member who is given 8 infraction points during a 30 day period will receive a 1 month ban from the forums.
  • Infractions against your account will expire after 1 month from when they were received.
  • Members may be permanently banned after multiple temporary bans or infractions if deemed necessary.
  • Members may also be banned immediately for breaking rules if serious enough.

Please read the new rules! <-- Click

Please ask any questions you may have regarding the infraction system, I would be happy to answer them!

you should make the infraction points public imo

Infraction points are unneccesary for the public to see, it's not like you can pit them against them for their legitemacy.

its more like a button to show those who dont care to follow the rules. can be used when determining someones maturity or professionalism. i wouldnt want to deal with someone who constantly breaks simple forum rules enforced to make this place better for everyone.

I would like something like on d2jsp.org, they have a "Warn System" in the users postbit stylesheet they have it display what their percentage of "warn" is. It's kind of an indicator of how rule abiding/mature they are.

i use the d2jsp forums aswell thats where i got the idea from ^.^

I looked for a mod/plugin similar to this, but came up blank.

At this point I think the infractions will be left private. Do you really need to know if someone had broken forum rules before? Your quite simply "judging the book by the cover".

Sorry to be a bit off-topic; but with the TWV, will you be implementing the old "TWV Positive/Negative" feedback/reputation. Because at this point it's based on how many transactions you've had in order to make up your Positive Rep.
