Hi there,
After a lot of deliberation I am preparing to sell my account (again), but I am planning on separating the characters among two accounts for two separate sales. I would really appreciate some advice from veteran traders as far as their opinion on the safety of doing so under the following circumstances, as well as anyone's advice on how the process works. I read Zerotolerance's safe buying/selling guide, but it is from 2008, and given bnet changes perhaps a little outdated. A link to a more recent thread would also be very helpful!
Anyway, the circumstances are this. When I tried to sell the account originally in late November, I got paypal scammed, and had to have the account recalled. I was careful to only deal with traders/MD when I was not logged into WoW, but it's possible that I told a guildie in whispers I might be selling, etc, without using covert word choices. So anyway, after I get the account back, I stop playing until early January, at which I pick up again to play alts and such. My RL friend needs gold, so I tell him he's welcome to use my war to farm (he's logged on my account many times in the past). Very next day...the account is banned, and I have to email account services to have it returned. I email in the usual form, have it returned, and everything is golden.
So now, it's March 1st, about two months after that original ban. Given this history, would it be safe to proceed with transferring my main to a new account and attempting a sale? What are some guidelines to follow? I've transferred cross server literally dozens of times, but never cross-account, so I have no idea how the process works.
More questions!
>For the destination account, should I register it with a completely fresh, neutral email, or the same email as the source?
>Should I advise the buyer to wait before changing it again?
>When I transfer it to a new account, does that account have to be within the same Bnet account? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose?
>The interested party sent an offer through my PlayerAuctions post (sorry MD but the prices are much higher on PA!), any additional experiences/things to know with regard to their sales procedure (if anyone knows...just throwing this out there.)
Thank you very much for any answers or advice! I would have loved to sell to the MD market but prices appear to have gone down compared to early November, and honestly after getting scammed by a pretty convincing guy, I don't trust I could spot a scammer.
