My laptop no longer runs games since i fixed Dmc xmd.dll error

Like the title says i'm in need of help i can longer run games and it's summer my brother had the problem and tried to fix it by himself instead of just deleating the damn thing here'd what he did:

Find out and download the compatible version of DMC.dll from the network.
Save the DMC.dll file on your PC.
Go to c:\Windows\System32
Find out the current copy of DMC.dll file and locate it.
Rename the current copy of DMC.dll to msstdfmtBACKUP.dll
Copy & paste the compatible version of DMC.dll to C:\Windows\System32 folder.
Click Start and then go to Run (Or search "run" on Vista & Win7)
Type "cmd" in the pop- up.
Type "regsvr32 DMC.dll" in the black screen.
Press Enter.

Pleas help me out since then my laptop is heating alot and cant play anything please help

You can repair your OS with the installer disc or do a clean install if you dont have any backup.

open a run prompt and type sfc /scannow. this will attempt to repair damaged or missing system files.

Mine started like this, then it turned into about 10 .dll errors on startup, it is fixable but really time consuming, especially if someones writing instructions to fix. The quickest option is stated above, either fresh OS install from Disc, or perhaps use a untouched .iso for windows 7 if you don't have the disc. Or a Reformat.

Try the following options
1- Start Menu - Command Prompt (Admin) - sfc /scannow
Let it run and fix any errors

2-Repair Windows by installing windows on top and opting to save current data
