My Chat Is Gone

Someone added me on discord, wanting to sell a high game account to me. Because I don't trust people on discord, so I told him to message me on epicnpc instead. He did make an epicnpc account and messaged me. His epicnpc account was unverified back then so I told him to verify it first. But now after a few days I can't see his chat anymore. The chat should've been between 22-24 July.

What happened in this case?

That user was most likely banned and all of their chats are then removed. I'm sorry, it can't be restored.

Seems they were likely a scammer or previously banned member.

isn't that just make scammers harder to track if their "footprints" are removed? Why don't let people see the scammers banned accounts and keep all the chats involved, so people can still know they're talking to scammers.

if I don't make this thread, i probably still talking to the scammer on discord. other people may became victims of the scammers too.

Scammers are making many new accounts and sending messages to many members. We don't want members inboxes full of banned chats, so they are removed once the user is banned.

Most messages are also unread because most members are not online at the time they receive the message. In most cases the message are removed before the member is online, so they never even know they received a message from a scammer.

In your case, you were already chatting with them. We can perhaps add an alert to let you know a chat was removed and we believe that user is a potential scammer. We'll add this in the near future.

I like the old feature better where the scammers chats & accounts are not deleted. I usually check someone's discord username on epicnpc, if i think they're too suspicious. I found at least 2 people who are likely scammers from just searching their discord on epicnpc.
