I am going to be writing this because I have been screwed by paypal as well as many other people. There is a way to get sellers protection when it comes to wow accounts. Whenever you sell a wow account that is considered an intangible good, however if you sell something such as a coin or something that holds value which is now considered a tangible good, paypal will give you sellers protection on the tangible good. Then as a bonus gift you give them the wow account. So for this to work properly you would have to get the confirmed address of the buyer, and actually ship them a coin such as a quarter whatever. Then when you ship it you send it priority express or whatever means you deem appropriate to get a tracking number. After you recieve the payment and ship the quarter or whatever, you then give them the account information for the world of warcraft account. IF they try to file a dispute then give paypal the tracking number and everything else and have the buyer have to sign for it when it arrives. That way they can't say that they didn't get it. Yeah, this has already been posted here before, but thanks for bringing it up again.
Another way for this that I use alot is you list a piece of paper (with the account details on it) and have them buy it out for the desired price you want for your account. You send them the details on the paper via mail, and if they try and do anything send them the tracking # and etc. /u/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This sounds like a good idea, but there is a few problems with it at the same time. Seller Protection is only available for verified premeir and business accounts, so if you have a personal account your out of luck. Also seller protection only covers certain countries, so if someone buys it that isn't in one of the defined countries your out of luck again. Then if you give the person the account info before he signs for or recieves the package you sent, whats to stop him from not accepting the package or saying he never received it but still keeping the account. If you gave him all the info he would have plenty of time to set up another account transfer the toon off and get the original account banned so you couldn't get your account back. theres prolly more problems with doing everything right to comply with paypals seller protection policy but those were just the things i could think of.
Yea Destiny, When i sell accounts on other auction sites i clearly state i will send the account info on a piece of paper with delivery confirmation. And anything over $250 with signed delivery confirmation.
This is also why the majority of my sales i only take confirmed address, this way i can have a backup for chargebacks, etc.

you remember.. when I sold you 800$ worth of accounts 4 days later my money is gone, because Litecake your partner sold them to some sketchy guy, in which you guys got all the money from...
Then for 2 weeks both of you said "We will handle it" and then after thanks giving and during my sickness, you drop it all on me and say "handle it your self" even when all the accounts have been tainted xfered etc..
I also even offered to deal from the 800$ lost to 400-600..
And if you really really ever want to keep your word, you will help me get those accounts back the way I sold you them, because honestly, why should i be stuck trying to get them 100% safe again?

I am not ignoring anyone. the forum got moved and I didn't see the new area where it was until now. Son Again I am sorry, but there is nothing we can do. the characters got xfered off the accounts. All I know is I am going to get my money or just get you both banned. and stop for freak sack blaming paypal, it was your guyses fault you got dirty money YOUR FAULT not no one else , also your fault that my chars were xfered.

look, out of 40 or 50 transactions with our company buying and selling, we had 3 that were from stolen accounts. How can you say we had control over receiving dirty money, when someone offered us 1400 for a bunch of accounts. I have sold to numerous people multiple accounts for over 1,000. It didn't seem out of the ordinary at all. We got scammed, and in return every payment that we sent including the 800 to you was reversed. Also every payment that we received was reversed. You took a loss, we took a much bigger loss, other people took losses. This was a big disaster that could have been avoided, maybe. However paypal did what they thought was right, do I agree with what they did NO, Will I continue to use paypal again one day, maybe. However what happened happened, Again I can say I am sorry until I am blue in the face, however There is right now, nothing that I can do about it. I have full documented logs from paypal that will prove my point, I will be giving them to the alexandria and any other admin that would like to see them. Because you were a seller and our payment to you was reversed by paypal, that is because you have no sellers protection. However if you were a buyer and lost the 800 as you are saying you would accept 400 I would have just done a refund if you requested one. However because I cannot send or receive anything from paypal other than buyer disputes, I could not give you any refund. Also I am NOT going to pay you out of my pocket. I told you I would be willing to help you out with some game cards but I am in NO WAY going to dish out 400 for this BS. DO WHAT YOU WILL!!!!!!! as far as recalling your accounts go, you want them to be 100% safe and if anything ever happens to them we are liable, I will tell you now, that will never happen. Because if someone in the future that you sell to decides to be a [censored] and recall you will blame me, so NO I will not recall the accounts for you, and take up a responsibility for something that would be inevitable anyways, the accounts will never be 100% safe Again I feel for your loss as I took a huge one and lost everything. But as forest gump once said "SH1T Happens" its true. Learn to take a loss when it happens and learn from your mistakes, I certinally did after this
Tiger, Your idea is good. But Paypal knows about this trick and they consider it to be a dishonest practice. What will happen is that if you have a few claims they will look into your dealings in detail. If they find out you are attempting to work around the intangible issue they may review past disputes. If they find that they paid out on an intangible item dispute they will close your account. Once you have a closed account it's very hard to just open another. They all get flagged together.
So this will work. But it's only short term as eventually you will get your Paypal blacklisted.

yeah thats what happened to me not because of the intangible thing but I was selling wow accounts in bulk on ebay and had about 12,000 in sales in my paypal from selling wow accounts, blizzard got mad at this in general by everyone doing it because they don't want people making money off of their game even though they are a multi billion dollar company, and so ebay closed my account saying I was selling illeagl merchandise and then paypal closed my account with like 12,320 or whatever the balance was and then a year later that balance then said 0. I called paypal and was like what happend to my money and they said you don't have any money etc and I threatened to sue them and they just laughed at me. I just hate paypal in general but I love it.
On a side note what if you sell a piece of paper with the account information on it. not the account itself. and then send it to the verified address on paypal. Wouldn't that actually be a tangible good and not virtual good because you are selling them the piece of paper with the account info not actually giving them anything over aim?

You could claim the value of the paper. But not the value of what it written on it. The writing would have to be of a famous person or something to give it more value. The value needs to be tangible. Something that in the real world someone would pay you for.
