Isn't it getting ridicilous?

Hello,

So recently i have noticed that the new system was implemented and i do understand why and it is good that you guys are trying to stop scammers but its pretty ridicilous to disable regular memebers to use avatars, signatures and such. But the most ridicilous one is that you have disabled the search bar really, do i really have to pay to get the search bar. How do you plan on getting new members the search bar is a crucial part of the site, for example if there is someone that wants to buy something and just registered he doesn't have to go through endless threads to find something. And also by disabling the search bar the older threads are pretty much finished, since no one actually goes over like page 6-7. And just because someone hasn't bumped doesn't mean it is sold, i remember people contacting me a year after i had made the thread.

I really dont know of the true situation with restrictions, i did not even know the seach bar was disabled for new members, but your not a new member so i dont understand why you cant, im sure one of the other mods will pick this up and answer your questions.

Yeah i joined on mmobay before, i have been active as well. I read there is a phone verification for the search bar and a 3$ fee.

The new default usergroup is supposed to be a bit restrictive. While members can still post, reply, use PMs and the feedback system, perks like avatars, profile images and search amongst others have been turned off. Most of the featured turned off are things that are abused by spammers, are server intensive processes or graphical upgrades. Search is server intensive, so that is why I decided to restrict it to members that upgrade only.

I know the lose of search is frustrating, however it seems a good amount of members are upgrading daily, so I do not believe our $3 price point is too high and will not be adjusting it at this time.

Not on vBulletin it doesn't. vB Sanitizes user input, which includes search.
