If i trade my account to another user, and that user gets it locked / suspended for suspicious account sharing (which he was), am I held responsible to get / prove the account has not been shared?

If i fail to do so am I suppose to compensate him for his "loss?"

P.S. Wasn't sure where to post this...

Thanks!

Normally, if you trade an account and it gets recalled it is then your responsibility to compensate the user, but if its the users fault for it being locked, then I dont think you should be held responsible, although I would suggest if you have the information available to get the account unlocked you help him anyways.

The account was not recalled, but the email said it was locked for suspicious activity of trading / sharing, but the account I recieved was not locked/banned/suspended/etc, so i just ruled out the whole trading situation. But I will do my best to get this issue resolved, thanks for the prompt response Morganc92!

you said you were sure he was sharing?
if the trader told you something like "i traded the acct and it was locked due to the trade."
then i would say it was completely his fault and you didnt need to do anything.
however, keep in mind when you trade there is often a lot of transfering/renaming, etc. and this can lead to locks due to suspicious activity.
if the account is locked because he was doing transfers or name/faction changes etc after you traded him, i would say that you are responsible to AT LEAST do everything in your power to help him (ie: id recover the acct if you are OO, provide them with an ID you have from the OO, provide CD keys, etc.).
all in all i would say even then its not your responsibility persay, but keep in mind that this is a trading COMMUNITY and if you arent willing to help ppl out with problems they have whether its our account their account, or a random person asking for help, then you arent going to have a good reputation or experience in that community.

um thats was a fake email, i got off the phone with a blizz rep about that about an hour ago. Blizz will just ban your account then make you call that was a fake.

Yes, as the seller you should help the person get the account unlocked. That is just a normal part of account trading and being a good trader/seller.

If the account was locked for hacking/botting or some other activity then it really depend on the time frame. If it it happens within a few days of the trade/sale, then the seller should be held responsible since it can take a few days for blizzard to catch up on activity like that and lock the account. It would be hard to tell whether the seller or buyer was the one doing the illegal activity. So the seller would have to help get the account unlocked. However if it happens past a week or two, then the seller is not responsible. Although a week is still in the gray zone so that would have to be determined by the case.
