Instant Chat Enabled

The new instant chat has been partially enabled today. Members can private chat with each other or in groups. Chat rooms have been disabled for now as we are still working on some design issues.

Chat rooms will be enabled next week.

Yes, logs are saved for 6 months, but they are not accessible to members. If a dispute comes up, we'll be able to access the logs for that chat.

The chat we are using does not have this feature, so it's not something we can just enable. Since the logs are also stored with a 3rd party, most likely we will not be able to add this feature either.

Are the normal mods supposed to have the kick/ban/banip feature? I am uncertain if the buttons work for us but they are showing in peoples profile for us.

Yes, all mods have the ability to ban/kick members from the chat.

Would be cool if user groups got their colour in the chat, e.g.
Normal Member --> Same
Upgraded Member --> Light Blue
Verified Member --> Darker blue

This is 3rd party software and we are very limited in what we can custom code because we do not have access to the files. Things like that won't be possible, sorry.

hopefully this works better then the last chat we had enabled on this site that got disabled due to all the abuse etc.

i say banip and ban should only be available to super mods and admins where as all mods have the kick feature to save abuse

No, currently all registered members can use it.

I banned him for chat abuse. He was asking age and trying to offer a "free game" but he was just spamming random people.

He's still able to message people on the chat system after the ban.

Our site doesn't record the exact time of ban, only the date, so I'm unable to check accurately.

However based on your first post, 10:22am, and checking the chat logs, I see his last message was at 10:23am.

So it appears there was a delay from the time he was banned to when he was actually banned from chat.

Chat ban is different from an Epicnpc ban.

If you're banned using the 'chat ban' you lose access to the chat immediately.
If you're banned on Epicnpc, there is a delay to when you're banned from chat.

We'll have to investigate this to determine how long the delay currently is and we'll make an update if necessary.

Things like that are not possible sorry. We have very little control over this chat in terms of custom coding for it, so it's basically going to be what is currently is.

It seems our chat provider is having an issue and the "active users" are not being populated. We do not have an ETA at this time, however we are inquiring about it and will update here once we have more info.

With the support chat are all the members able to see other members messages? Most people seem confused when mods reply to people and assume they are messaging them.

If we could shut off support channel or make it only if people want to enter it. it messages everyone and people do not like noise and notificiations

Chat groups can be improved.
Groups should be an opt-in and have the a disable notification feature.

A lot of people (including me), tried to leave / disabled the #support group, wich is currently impossible.

The "Support" chat room has been made private. We are going to create a specific page for it so members are not automatically added to it and won't received notification unless they join the room.

Users can register an account with FB, Twitter or G+. If you use FB, you're asked to enter a username. If you do not enter one, FBuser1234567 is created instead. The numbers are random, but these are not the same people making multiple accounts.

I don't understand your question.

Anyone can register an account using their Facebook login. If someone doesn't enter a customer username, we generate a random username like "Fbuser1234567" (numbers are random)

These FBuser accounts are not created by the same person.
