"I'll get right on that..."

This is merely a comment, for posterity.

I recently sold two accounts via EPICNPC (wow and lotro), to two users who seem to have a decent amount of rep. Things went fine; I received payment, they received the accounts. Both suggested I leave feedback, and that they would do the same.

The latter bit isn't happening. After a couple days, I messaged both users with something like: "Just curious, but you said you'd leave feedback, and you haven't. Just wondering." One didn't respond until a few days later, when I re-messaged them. Both assured me they'd get around to it.

Another day later, and I can't help but think something fishy might be up. Not trying to be paranoid, but after all they did promise to reciprocate.

Can't help but add this hilarious response from one of them. There may be nothing fishy going on, and this thread is really just for my protection, but others might find it entertaining as well:

I do this all the time, we are so busy with customers we can't leave feedback towards someone. I agree it is quite unfair, and we should treat you the same way you do to us. But if I left like 91 feedback + to my customers it would be a huge pain. And sometimes I do, I do the best that I can do. But sometimes I forget, and just can't be bothered altogether.

I always ask for feedback because I need proof that a trade went on.

Feedback only requires the URL of the thread and a comment. Shouldn't take more than a few seconds to copy/paste the URL and post a quick comment.

Not sure what I can do to speed it up other than removing the URL requirement, but that would open the feedback system to more fake feedback. Which is why I haven't done it.

I don't really see any way to fix this because there's no way for the system to know if someone sold something or not, so no automated system to remind users can be added.

Honestly wasn't fishing for replies, but I have to admit it's neat to have the admin weigh in.

The "it takes too long" argument really does seem weak. I wouldn't even mind if someone rolled their face on the keyboard, as far as the comment part goes, but it would be nice to have the +1, especially for users with no feedback history, like me.

Now, I can understand if someone is hesitant to leave feedback because they're worried the other party might try something sketchy a week later, or something. That argument makes sense to me. But don't ask me to leave feedback, promising you'll do the same, and then re-neg.

Hmmmm maybe a leave feedback button on the thread? And the link is automatically added in when you click on it. So all you need to do is just leave a comment and change if you are the seller or buyer? Might save some time and it won't be much of an ***.

Well google chrome ATM has an auto-fill kind of thing for me that is. So all I have to do is click a few buttons and the feedback is left, takes about 10-20 seconds of my time. Not really a pain in the ***. Although my phone using safari doesn't auto fill so yeah that's annoying

Something like that or similar, not sure if you get it though

That's not a bad idea. I'll see what we can do to get that added.

something i started implementing a while back is to use the feedback system as another way to record keep. There is a section "Additional comments: (Visible to buyer, seller
and staff only)" and i use that area to put in what i traded/sold, what i traded for/purchased, and the date. it makes it another record i can get info from if anything goes bad and it leaves the mods another form of tracking what happened.
