I only have access to a scan as a way to provide a copy of my ID to a pro-seller (accountwarehouse) but they refuse it because it's in scan quality and not HD.

Why is this so? What difference does it make to them?

Thank you.

I dont know what game you are working with them on. but a good cell phone picture or tablet picture will work. the id must be legible and these days game companies ask for pictures not scans of id.

It's dota2. I don't have access to high quality photo... The scan is completely legible... What do they use the ID for anyways that it demands an HD photo?

I'm losing my mind with the ammount of stuff you have to do to sell an account...

They use it to recover or ban account if you recover. It is also security as they can come after you legally if you steal it back, should they choose to.

Because Valve might not accept a low res image if accountwarehouse even has to submit it to recover the dota2 account. If Valve denies your ID, then it's worthless to accountwarehouse, that's why they're not accepting it.

Valve doesn't ask for ID verification though, at least I haven't heard of such cases. :p

It could be requested if back and forth recall war. But likelyness is low

This doesn't make any sense, steam accounts are not linked to any ID whatsoever. What difference does it make if you have an ID or not if the account is not linked to an ID?

It has nothing to do with that. It`s all about whether pro-buyer can find you if you decide to pull a account recall scam. If you have a ID that matches your verifed papyla account, chances are they can locate you and possible take legal action against you if you breach the contract. Being a professional dealer means you have to take all the precaution and assume everyone deal with you is probably a "scammer".
