I want to buy a website domain, it is not on Godaddy.com, Help.

Hey,

As title says I would like to buy a website domain name however Godaddy.com says it is already taken and I should use their service to contact the owner for $70 + commission if I buy the website name.

When I type in the website it comes up "Server not Found"

The .org name of the website is taken, but I want the .com.

Any suggestions to go about doing this?

Nevermind figured it out ... Yahoo answer FTW

Ugh, did a whois search. Found the owner which is another domain service company.

The company says the website is owened by someone and I need to "make an offer" and use their service to get in touch with them.


Any ideas? Whois told me these guys owned it.

You're pretty much screwed in getting the domain - at least for a decent price if this is the case. Most likely it has a domain squatter on it. You might try emailing root@domainname and see if it gets forwarded to some one, they maybe willing to cut you a deal.
