I got scammed buying something on paypal i sent it as a gift should i do an unauthorized purchase claim with my bank to get my money since paypal doesnt support gifts?

First, you need to follow vohaz links if you want to make a dispute here. I suggest you make one to the best of your ability if you were scammed so that we can follow up. Otherwise, the person who scammed you will get away with it.

As for your question regarding Paypal Gift, there is really no way to retrieve your payment. Paypal will only refund your payment if your account was hacked and you will have to prove that in detail (which is difficult since they can search that themselves).

The only viable way is to make a claim that your account was hacked (unauthorized payment) via paypal resolution center, but it is extremely hard to win the case.

Like I've already mentioned, if you conduct a chargeback using your bank, paypal will come after you.

Next time, don't send it as a gift.
