How to safely proceed with a transaction on paypal?

Hello

I am going to try and sell my account with someone on Sunday. I already had a few pm's with them and I want to make sure I am doing everything safe I had a look at the safe trading guide and it was very helpful. But I am new to all of this so is there a way to ensure a safe palpal transaction. Also are there other things I should be on the lookout for in order to ensure a safe transaction?

All Paypal transaction can be charged back. With that being said, I like the person to send the Money as a gift with a note saying something along the lines of "I have received the Virtual Good of (whatever it is) from (insert their Paypal and name). Take a screenshot of it. I have saved all my screenshots and when someone tried to charge me back I called PayPal immediately and told them it was a sale of intangible goods and they closed the dispute. Always call.

Pay-Pal is pretty buggy and has a few flaws, but they are pretty understanding when it comes to things like this. Just always make sure you have proof, in the event that you need it.

You will avoid *most* of these issues by dealing with people who have reputation, have been around for a bit, and have verified themselves in one form or another.

If your selling , yes that is the safest way for you, for the buyer, not so much.

Almost all the common payment methods have pros and cons, you need to work out what is most suitable for you and stick to it...

Western Union

Pros: You get the cash, it's quite quick and there's no recall possibilities
Cons: Need to provide ID to collect money
Cons: High fees
Cons: No protection at all for the buyer

PayPal

Pro: Very common, most people doing business online have it
Pro: Offers both buyer and seller some degree of security
Con: ALL types of transactions can be recalled/charged back, but some harder than others - and with evidence, you stand a good change of winning disputes

MoneyBookers

Pro: Tighter dispute procedures than PayPal
Con: Can still recall money, despite people saying otherwise
Con: Awful customer service
Con: Not so widely used


Try and chose something that you think works for you.

thanks Delirious, that was very helpful. I was thinking of using Moneybooker instead of paypal for my playerauctions account and direct transactions. though seeing those cons and pro I think i would still stick to paypal then
