How to safely buy a WoW toon/character (not a whole account)

is there a safe way to purchase just one character off of some one else's battle.net account in which they would have to contact blizzard to request
a character transfer to that of my account? I have found guides on safely trading complete wow/battle.net accounts but none of them say if you can
get a character transferred to your account and not worry about the original owner recalling that character later on.

I myself have been wondering the same thing. I want to say yes its possible. But its not the SUPER -EASIEST
I had one of my characters transfered to a new account i had on a different email. And all I had to do was call and talk to them..verify my info, 5 minutes later i was set up. So if you had a good guy that would take the little extra time, im sure its possible
